Electric Word plc, the specialist information business, announced today the
acquisition of ArkSports Limited (ArkSports) for a small cash consideration.

ArkSports is a specialist conference and research business in the fast-growing
niche of sport and technology.  Its clients include broadcasters, technology
companies, financial services companies, sports internet businesses, global
sponsors and sports rights owners. ArkSport will join Electric Word's
SportBusiness Group subsidiary and is expected to benefit from SBG's
infrastructure and broader market access - through its magazines, websites,
conferences and directories - to further capitalise on the expansion of the
sports industry. In the year to 31 March 2006 ArkSports Limited made a loss
after tax and dividends of #12k on turnover of #80k. Electric Word is paying a
consideration of #90k.

The Company continues to trade in line with the Board's expectations and the
Group's preliminary results are expected to be announced on 6 March 2007.
