Welcome to any yahoo TC classic forum message board participants - johnnyvolvo here - AKA dragon on yahoo (dragon_legal_department).

This free board gives us 15 posts each per day - it may cut down on the comedy and some replies a little but it should cut down on spam a bit too.

Seems like an okay alternative to the yahoo boards when they finally pull the plug on the classic format.

This board is not formatted as well as the old yahoo boards were, but it will do, I think.

Nice pay increases for executives of a company which underperformed substantially the last two years during which time the share price dropped like a rock.

Both debt and metal prices are really hurting Thomson Creek Metals(TC). Perhaps a much bigger move in gold might help them, but I understand that they have an arrangement that doesn't provide full compensation on the gold they mine.

If they can lower their debt and the Moly price got back on track TC would be an interesting speculation.

TC should closely follow development of moly sulfide which is being researched to release hydrogen from water. Hydrogen is used in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles which a number of auto manufacturers are producing. Hydrogen could also be used to produce electric to power and heat homes.

I often wonder if a safe and reasonably cost hydrogen fuel system can be designed for individuals to provide for their various needs.

It is probably just a one day short cover rally, that's what my latest 'techs' are telling me for time being thru today and in near term.
Copper, like Gold, and all miners are generally being hammered.
I think TC under .60 overall, generally speaking is fine and will pay off if you have a long enough time horizon, but for now I'm just watching.
It seems we still need to be cautious on miners overall... A painful lesson I've learned myself this week wiht miners.

Need more volume up to be convincing...

I'm looking for either a stab back towards a dollar to trade out of, and/or if this continues down a likely cash buyout of their molybdenum mine as well as full sale of Co incl Mt Milligan and all debt (around $800 million last I looked) to a larger miner.

Something around $2-3 sale value.

If you're in for the longer haul on it, eventually it may pay off for you.

Had strong resistance ever since .73.

My followers got in .65 or less.
7-15% performance range on this stock (in about 2 days hold time)

Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. (TC) (TCM.TO) ("Thompson Creek" or the "Company") announced today that during the second quarter of 2015 the Company repurchased and retired $34.2 million principal amount of its 9.75% senior secured notes due December 1, 2017 at an average purchase price of 1.07% of the notes' par value. Total cash used was approximately $37.8 million, inclusive of the payment of accrued interest to the repurchase date of $1.2 million. Future interest savings from this repurchase to the December 2015 call date will be approximately $0.8 million, representing a net average purchase price of 1.024% of par compared to the call price of 1.04875% of par, with future interest savings to the December 2017 maturity date of $8.2 million. Since the completion of the Mount Milligan Mine to June 30, 2015, the Company has repaid and retired 12% of its debt balance, or approximately $121 million, including the net repayments of its capital lease obligations. The Company's target is to reduce its debt over time to approximately three times earnings before income taxes, depreciation and amortization ("EBITDA") for a twelve month period.

The Company's June 30, 2015 cash and cash equivalents balance was approximately $211 million, compared to $238 million at March 31, 2015. Excluding the impact of the notes repurchase announced herein, the Company's cash balance increased by approximately $10 million during the second quarter of 2015.

Jacques Perron, President and Chief Executive Officer of Thompson Creek, said, "During the second quarter we saw continual operational improvements at Mount Milligan, which we believe will continue throughout the remainder of the year. Started to buy some TC today (privately). I think it is getting close based on my latest analysis. I've been quite patient waiting on it so far.

Yep, it is still getting killed.
TC will be a great opportunity for a trade again. So far hitting .60s for target as was earlier posted.
Looking for .50-.60s for potential buy eventually.

With the DB downgrade and -11% I wouldn't be surprised to see .50s or lower.

Getting pretty ridiculous valuation now as an investment (not simply a trade), based upon a book value now several multiples higher than present share price.

It would not surprise me to see new lows next few days or maybe couple of weeks yet on TC.
Just giving my honest thoughts & analysis here. There is still plenty of risk to downside yet in short term. I personally would not be accumulating this over and over again as time goes on towards new lows, but I know there are those who like to do that downhill average down spiral trap.
Additionally, when you look at the sectors it is in (industrial metals & precious metals, etc.), there could be even more risk based on that alone between now and early July.
My thinking is waiting on sidelines has been good so far since early June, and that 'erroring on side of caution' today seems correct yet going forward.

and certainly I've got no regret trading out of it on that last spike to 1.10s in early June (along with directed same to my followers).
That said, I'll be more interested for possible re-entry if this goes down to new lows again, preferably under .80 in terms of seeking an oversold point.
I could change my mind at anytime based on latest data & trading, but that is my speculation of likely movement yet in the short term.

This is looking worse and worse, meaning better and better for some long term low entry buys

Going to have to grab more now.

Out of TC. Made a nice profit, including the 2 prior minor losses when stopped out.
TC was given out May 29 (trading .86-.92) for re-entry.
For people who followed, 15-22% Profit range on TC on 06/03/15 after '3+ days' hold time & based on .92 Max Entry.

Nice move today!

Today's gain on TC more than makes up for being stopped out 2x over the last week at avg of -3-5% each time, that is assuming people followed my stop-loss protocols in prior entry on this.
...And I stated .92 Max Entry since last Friday.

That bounce off of .86 area last week on Thursday & re-tested Friday was an important technical indicator for me to re-enter it a 3rd time.

Yeah my personal % is 15% so I put a limit at 1.05 I'm out from here but glad to see it did something other than fall

TC is on a roll so far today above 1.
Always remember the pre-emptive (selling) protocols from Buy Alerts.

It's way too early to judge anything. Besides, the news headline today is not something to only be relied upon as a catalyst.
TC is eventually due to turn upward for a while anyhow.
