GRAPEVILLE, HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa., July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- Beacon Redevelopment Industrial Corp.'s (Pink Sheets: BCND)
President, Rick Blackburn visited the Westmoreland Glass Company
during the week. He immediately directed his staff to implement
additional security for the property as soon as possible based on
newspaper reported actions. Mr. Blackburn also visited another site
in Western Pennsylvania that is a possible acquisition candidate
for Beacon. "It is a similar situation as the Westmoreland Glass
Factory," Mr. Blackburn said. The company will begin its
preliminary due diligence. Mr. Blackburn also learned the
identities of third parties who caused extensive damage to the
property during the past year while creating hazards. As such, the
Company will be exploring legal action towards those involved. In
addition, the Company is also investigating the location of certain
glass molds and parts that were illegally removed from the
property. The Company, upon its acquisition of the Westmoreland
Glass Factory, received an assignment and all rights from the prior
owners to those artifacts and it intends to protect those assets to
the fullest extent of the law. Mr. Blackburn stated, "Once
something is stolen, the statute of limitations does not make it
legal to possess or sell. They must be returned to our Company."
Mr. Blackburn stated, "The Company also recognizes its long running
feud with the Pittsburgh Tribune Review as they continue to report
falsehoods based on their own breaking of the law." Specifically,
the newspaper, without permission, unlawfully trespassed at the
site and brought minor children into the factory without proper
safety equipment, then published an article glorifying the
activities. The newspaper allowed the people they brought to
rummage through the site looking for artifacts despite knowing of
the company's warnings that asbestos exists. "The Tribune Review
reporter came up from the railroad tracks to circumvent the locked
gate. If the paper doesn't renounce what they did, the company
intends to pursue their activity as civil trespassing and
recklessly compromising safety," Mr. Blackburn explained. "It is an
outrage!" Mr. Blackburn also addressed the continued Dominion
Resources dispute. "Beacon believes that Dominion is in violation
of its lease and that the company is owed significant damages.
Beacon intends to pursue those monies due in an appropriate forum."
Mr. Blackburn's tour of the Company's properties continues this
week with a visit to Weston, West Virginia on Monday afternoon to
inspect Beacon's land. This press release does not constitute an
