IH Market News Shares of Under Armour (NYSE:UAA) fell more than 20% at Tuesday’s market open after the athletic apparel group reported quarterly results below analyst expectations and issued weaker-than-anticipated guidance for fiscal 2027.The company posted an adjusted loss of $0.03 per share for the fourth quarter, missing consensus estimates for a loss of $0.02 per share.Revenue declined 1% year-on-year to $1.2 billion, although the figure came in slightly above analyst expectations of $1.17 billion. North America Weakness Offsets International Growth Compared with the same period last year, revenue fell 1%, or 4% on a constant-currency basis.Under Armour said the decline was largely driven by softer performance in North America, where sales dropped 7% to $641 million.That weakness was partially offset by stronger international demand, with overseas revenue rising 10% to $539 million. Results are reported in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("U.S. GAAP"). References to "constant currency" and "adjusted" results are non-GAAP financial measures; reconciliations are provided below. Within international markets, EMEA revenue increased 7 percent (down 1 percent constant currency), Asia-Pacific increased 13 percent (up 8 percent constant currency), and Latin America increased 22 percent (up 8 percent constant currency).Wholesale revenue decreased 3 percent to $748 million and direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue increased 5 percent to $406 million. Within DTC, owned-and-operated store revenue grew 8 percent, and eCommerce revenue was flat, representing 35 percent of total DTC revenue for the quarter.By category, apparel revenue was flat at $778 million, footwear was flat at $282 million, and accessories grew 2 percent to $94 million.Gross margin declined 470 basis points to 42.0 percent, primarily due to higher tariffs, as well as higher product costs, pricing headwinds, and unfavorable regional mix, partially offset by foreign exchange gains and favorable channel mix. Excluding restructuring impacts, adjusted gross margin declined 360 basis points to 43.1 percent.Selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses decreased 15 percent to $518 million, primarily reflecting lower marketing spend due to timing shifts, with most prior-year spending occurring in the second half, along with lower incentive compensation and overall expense management. Excluding $15 million in transformation expenses related to the Fiscal 2025 Restructuring Plan, adjusted SG&A declined 14 percent to $503 million.Restructuring charges totaled $8 million.Operating loss was $34 million. Adjusted diluted earnings per share was $0.12.Fiscal 2025 Restructuring Plan In the fourth quarter, the company recorded $8 million in restructuring charges, $13 million of restructuring in cost of goods sold, and $15 million in transformation-related SG&A expenses, for a total of $36 million under its Fiscal 2025 Restructuring Plan. To date, the company has incurred $261 million in total restructuring and transformation costs, slightly above its previous expectation of $255 million, including $109 million in cash and $152 million in non-cash charges. Following a comprehensive review, the company is initiating a targeted extension of the plan, bringing total program costs to approximately $305 million. The company expects the plan to be substantially complete by December 31, 2026.Fiscal 2027 OutlookCompared with fiscal 2026, key highlights of the company's fiscal 2027 outlook include:Revenue is expected to decline slightly year over year, with a low single-digit decrease in North America partially offset by low single-digit growth in EMEA and Asia-Pacific.Gross Margin is expected to increase 220 to 270 basis points versus last year's gross margin. Approximately 150 basis points of this improvement is driven by an assumed reversal of International Emergency Economic Powers Act ("IEEPA") tariff costs expensed in fiscal 2026. Excluding this benefit, gross margin improvement reflects pricing actions and a more favorable channel mix, partially offset by higher tariff rates currently in place, along with supply chain headwinds related to the Middle East conflict.Including the additional transformation expenses related to the Fiscal 2025 Restructuring Plan, SG&A expenses are expected to decrease at a low single-digit rate. Excluding the transformation expenses, adjusted SG&A is expected to increase at a low single-digit rate. This increase reflects normalization of reduced prior year incentive compensation and benefit costs as part of the company's tariff mitigation strategy, as well as incremental marketing investment to strengthen the brand as the business stabilizes, while maintaining disciplined cost control.Operating income is expected to be in the range of $96 million to $116 million. Excluding expected transformation expenses and restructuring charges, adjusted operating income is anticipated to be $140 million to $160 million. This adjusted operating income includes an approximate $70 million benefit from the assumption that refunds from prior year IEEPA tariff expenses are realized, approximately $35 million of headwinds from the conflict in the Middle East, and approximately $30 million of incremental marketing investments.Diluted loss per share is expected to range from breakeven to $0.04. Under Armour (NYSE:UAA) shares fell sharply on Tuesday after Citi cut its rating on the stock to Sell from Neutral, citing growing challenges facing the company’s North America turnaround and a risk profile tilted to the downside.The sportswear group’s shares were down roughly 6% in premarket trading by 05:39 ET.The downgrade follows a strong rally last week, when Under Armour lifted its full-year outlook after reporting better-than-expected third-quarter results, pushing the stock higher.Despite the earnings beat in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, Citi analyst Paul Lejuez said there are “several reasons we are cautious on the NAM brand turnaround,” pointing to an intensely competitive landscape, weak traffic in the direct-to-consumer channel and the likelihood of higher marketing spend.He also highlighted a deceleration in the EMEA region, where constant-currency sales growth slowed from high single digits in the first half to just 2% in the third quarter, with macroeconomic pressures — particularly in the U.K. — weighing on demand.Under Armour has reiterated that fiscal 2027 will be a year of stabilization in North America, with sales expected to be broadly flat. Revenue totaled $1.33 billion, down 6% on a currency-neutral basis but slightly ahead of analysts’ estimates of $1.31 billion.Performance remained mixed by region. North America continued to weigh on results, with revenue down 10% to $757 million. International revenue rose 3% to $577 million, although growth was just 1% on a currency-neutral basis. BALTIMORE, Feb. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE: UAA, UA) released its unaudited financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, which ended on December 31, 2025. The company reports its financial performance in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP"). This press release includes references to "currency neutral" and "adjusted" amounts, which are non-GAAP financial measures detailed in the "Non-GAAP Financial Information" section below.

Our strategy is gaining traction through better products, bolder storytelling, and a more disciplined market presence, positioning Under Armour to operate with greater intention and confidence going forward."Third Quarter Fiscal 2026 Review Revenue decreased 5 percent to $1.33 billion (down 6 percent on a currency-neutral basis).North America revenue declined 10 percent to $757 million, while international revenue increased 3 percent to $577 million (up 1 percent currency neutral). Within international markets, EMEA revenue grew 6 percent (up 2 percent currency neutral), Asia-Pacific declined 5 percent (down 5 percent currency neutral), and Latin America increased 20 percent (up 13 percent currency neutral).Wholesale revenue decreased 6 percent to $660 million, and direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue declined 4 percent to $647 million. Within DTC, owned-and-operated store revenue declined 2 percent, and eCommerce revenue fell 7 percent, representing 38 percent of total DTC revenue for the quarter.By category, apparel revenue decreased 3 percent to $934 million, footwear declined 12 percent to $265 million, and accessories decreased 3 percent to $108 million.Gross margin declined 310 basis points to 44.4 percent, primarily due to higher tariffs. Other factors included pricing headwinds and an unfavorable channel and regional mix. Foreign exchange gains and a favorable product mix partially offset these impacts.Selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses increased 4 percent to $665 million. Excluding a $99 million litigation reserve expense related to a previously disclosed insurance carrier dispute and $3 million in transformation expenses related to the Fiscal 2025 Restructuring Plan, adjusted SG&A declined 7 percent to $563 million, primarily reflecting lower marketing spend due to timing shifts, with most prior-year spending occurring in the second half.Restructuring charges totaled $75 million.Operating loss was $150 million. Excluding the litigation reserve expense and transformation and restructuring charges, adjusted operating income was $26 million.During the quarter, the company recorded a net loss of $431 million, which included a $247 million valuation allowance on its U.S. federal deferred tax assets. Adjusted net income was $37 million, which excludes the litigation reserve expense, transformation and restructuring charges, and the valuation allowance. Diluted loss per share was $1.01; adjusted diluted earnings per share was $0.09.Inventory decreased 2 percent to $1.1 billion.Liquidity: Cash and cash equivalents totaled $465 million at quarter-end. The company also held $600 million in restricted investments designated for the repayment of its senior notes due in June 2026. At quarter-end, no borrowings were outstanding under its $1.1 billion revolving credit facility.Regarding the valuation allowance, in accordance with GAAP, the company was required to reduce the value of its U.S. federal deferred tax assets and record a corresponding non-cash tax expense as a result of cumulative GAAP U.S. losses over the past three years. These losses have been driven largely by restructuring and impairment charges, litigation reserve expenses, and other non-operating items. This valuation allowance has no impact on Under Armour's cash flow or tax filings and should reverse once the U.S. business returns to sustained profitability.Fiscal 2025 Restructuring Plan In May 2024, Under Armour announced a restructuring plan to improve financial and operational efficiency, which has since been updated as implementation progressed. The plan is now expected to cost up to $255 million, including up to $107 million in cash charges and up to $148 million in non-cash charges. Through the end of the third quarter of fiscal 2026, the company recorded $178 million in restructuring and impairment charges and $47 million in other transformation-related expenses. Of the $224 million incurred to date, $89 million is cash-related and $135 million is non-cash. The company expects to recognize the remaining charges under the updated plan by the end of fiscal 2026.Fiscal 2026 OutlookCompared with fiscal 2025, key highlights of the company's fiscal 2026 outlook are:Revenue is expected to decline approximately 4 percent, compared with the prior outlook of a 4 to 5 percent decline. This includes an approximate 8 percent decline in North America and a 6 percent decline in Asia-Pacific, each compared with a previously expected high-single-digit decline, partially offset by an approximate 9 percent increase in EMEA revenue, compared with a previously expected high-single-digit increase.Gross margin is expected to decline approximately 190 basis points, compared with the prior outlook of a 190 to 210 basis point decline, primarily due to higher U.S. tariffs, unfavorable channel and regional mix, and pricing headwinds, partially offset by favorable foreign exchange and product mix.SG&A expenses are expected to decline at a low-double-digit rate, compared with the prior outlook of a mid-teen percentage decline. Adjusted SG&A, which excludes litigation reserve expenses, transformation expenses related to the Fiscal 2025 Restructuring Plan, and impairment charges, is expected to decline at a mid-single-digit rate, unchanged from the prior outlook, driven by lower marketing costs, restructuring savings, and other cost management initiatives.Operating loss is expected to be approximately $154 million, compared with the prior outlook of a $56 million to $71 million loss. Excluding the litigation reserve expense and expected transformation and restructuring charges, adjusted operating income is expected to be approximately $110 million, compared with the prior outlook of $95 million to $110 million.Diluted loss per share is expected to range from $1.24 to $1.25. U.S. equity futures edged lower on Friday as weakness in technology stocks persisted. Online retail giant Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) unveiled a sharp increase in capital spending, while carmaker Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) flagged a major strategic rethink away from electric vehicles. Bitcoin (COIN:BTCUSD) continued to slide, and oil markets remained focused on the outcome of talks between the United States and Iran.



Amazon plans sharp rise in capital expenditure



Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) was among the last major tech groups to report quarterly results after Thursday’s Wall Street close and followed peers in outlining a significant ramp-up in spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure.Chief executive Andy Jassy said Amazon intends to invest $200 billion in expanding its AI capabilities in 2026, implying a more than 50% jump in capital expenditure this year. The scale of the spending increase unsettled investors, pushing the stock sharply lower in after-hours trading.The announcement reinforced expectations that Big Tech is far from easing back on AI investment. The four largest hyperscalers—Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Meta—are now forecast to spend more than $630 billion collectively this year.On the numbers, Amazon posted fourth-quarter 2025 earnings of $1.95 per share on revenue of $213.39 billion, up 13.6% year on year, narrowly missing profit forecasts. Amazon Web Services delivered revenue of $35.6 billion in the December quarter, with sales growth of 24%, its strongest pace in 13 quarters.While AWS represents only around 15–20% of group revenue, it generates more than 60% of Amazon’s operating profit.
“Amazon delivered a slightly mixed picture with strong overall revenue growth and a standout boost from the cloud unit’s much anticipated reacceleration picking up greater speed,” Emarketer principal analyst Sky Canaves said.



U.S. futures slip as Wall Street eyes weekly losses



U.S. stock futures were lower early Friday, extending recent declines as Amazon’s selloff weighed on the broader technology sector. At 03:35 ET, S&P 500 futures were down 0.2%, Nasdaq 100 futures slipped 0.4%, and Dow futures eased 0.1%.Wall Street closed sharply lower on Thursday, with the Nasdaq Composite dropping 1.6%, the S&P 500 falling 1.2% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average shedding more than 500 points. The Nasdaq is on track for its worst weekly performance since early April, down around 4%, while the S&P 500 has lost roughly 2%. The Dow is broadly flat for the week.More corporate results are due later Friday, including updates from Under Armour (NYSE:UAA), Biogen (NASDAQ:BIIB), AutoNation (NYSE:AN) and Philip Morris (NYSE:PM). The U.S. jobs report, originally scheduled for Friday, has been pushed to next week following the resolution of the federal government shutdown.Separately, data from Challenger, Gray & Christmas showed announced layoffs by U.S. employers surged in January to the highest level for the month in 17 years.



Stellantis books major charge in “strategic shift”



Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) said it would take a charge of around €22 billion ($26.5 billion) linked to a reassessment of its electric vehicle strategy, resulting in a preliminary loss of between €19 billion and €21 billion in the second half of 2025.The group said the majority of the write-downs relate to changes in its product roadmap, driven by sharply reduced assumptions for EV demand.
“The charges announced today largely reflect the cost of over-estimating the pace of the energy transition that distanced us from many car buyers’ real-world needs, means and desires,” said Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa in a statement.The Franco-Italian automaker described the move as a “strategic shift” as it responds to high costs and softer-than-expected EV sales. Stellantis, along with other major European manufacturers such as Volkswagen, has also called for subsidies to support car production in the EU amid pressure from U.S. tariffs and rising competition from China.



Bitcoin heads for steep weekly decline



Bitcoin weakened further on Friday, leaving the world’s largest cryptocurrency on course for a heavy weekly loss as confidence in risk assets continued to fade. Bitcoin fell more than 9% to around $64,730, after earlier touching a 16-month low near $60,100.The digital asset was heading for a third consecutive weekly decline and was down more than 20% over the week. It has also lost over half its value from the record high reached in October and has erased all gains made since President Donald Trump’s election victory in late 2024.Bitcoin has been hit by a broader retreat from speculative assets, with selling pressure intensifying after Trump nominated Kevin Warsh as his preferred candidate for Federal Reserve chair. Warsh has previously opposed the Fed’s asset-purchase programs, and expectations of a leaner central bank balance sheet have weighed on crypto markets.Adding to the pressure, major corporate holder Strategy (NASDAQ:MSTR) reported a much wider fourth-quarter loss on Thursday, largely reflecting declines in the value of its Bitcoin holdings.



Oil prices up, but weekly losses loom ahead of talks



Oil prices rose on Friday but remained on track for their first weekly decline in nearly two months, as investors awaited the outcome of U.S.–Iran talks later in the day. Brent crude climbed 1.3% to $68.38 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate gained 1.4% to $64.19.Despite the rebound, Brent was set to finish the week down 3.3% and WTI lower by around 1.8%, with U.S. and Iranian officials due to meet in Oman amid elevated tensions in the Middle East. Markets have been hoping that dialogue between Washington and Tehran could help ease tensions and reduce the risk of wider conflict, prompting traders to remove some geopolitical risk premium from oil prices this week.However, uncertainty remains after reports of disagreement over the scope of the talks, with Iran rejecting U.S. calls to include discussions on its missile program and saying negotiations would be limited to nuclear issues. Under Armour (UAA) – Under Armour said it would end the 15-year, $280 million apparel partnership with the University of California, Los Angeles, that it signed with the university in 2016, saying it had not received the expected marketing benefits for an extended period of time. UCLA said it would fight the move to end the partnership.


Back in 2013 I'd thought about buying Under Armor and SodaStream.

At that time UA was around $35 and the last time I checked it was over $40. I thought for sure it was over $60 by now and probably closer to $80. Figured that was yet another big mistake I'd made by not buying some.

I see their clothing everywhere and I still have a bunch I bought years ago that I've never worn - still has the tags on (anyone wanna buy some vintage UA?).

Come on UAA. Give me +30% today please..

Geez. Glad I didn't buy this a few weeks ago like I almost did. Broke that 18 support zone. Looks like a bunch of support in the 18-16 range. If this breaks 16 its hard to say how low it goes.

Why Under Armour Stock Gained 17% in February

What happened

Sports apparel retailer Under Armour (NYSE: UA) (NYSE: UAA) outpaced the market last month, jumping 17% compared to a 4% decrease in the S&P 500, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence.

The surge helped chip away at shareholders' losses, although the stock remains far below its all-time high and has shed over 60% since early 2016.

So what
Investors were happy with the fourth-quarter results that were issued in the middle of the month. In that report, the retailer announced declining profitability and weak sales growth. However, operating trends improved significantly from the prior quarter.

Sales fell by 4% in the core U.S. market, for example, compared to a 12% dive in the third quarter. Under Armour's gross profit margin shrank by 1.5 percentage points, which represented a modest uptick from the prior quarter's 1.6 percentage-point drop.

Now what
CEO Kevin Plank and his team are forecasting another transition year ahead, with sales growth sticking close to the 3% uptick they managed in 2017. Profitability should improve as the U.S. market continues to stabilize, and as Under Armour's restructuring plan shaves costs.

From there, executives are hoping that their reduced expense burden will allow them to generate healthier profits in the core U.S. segment while they expand more aggressively in attractive international markets like China.
