RBC downgraded Lear $LEA to Sector perform. WHy? Fundamentals show stock's +20% undervalued analysis

This is wrong. It is trading on the NYSE on a "when-issued" basis.

Take it as a lesson learned why not to blindly buy any Q stock without significant research. Some Q company's issue new stock to current holders some just change the ticker and the stock goes massively up and some just cancel outright.

Lear chose to cancel outright so any holders of LEARQ, ain't holders of anything anymore.

The new stock was trading today around $52. I spoke to the VP of Investor Relations.

Now that the OLD/NEW stock is closed, here is the foward thinking i am doing.

1) Lear has zero debt which as a invester we all look for.

2) Lear says they have a back log of orders, means income.

3) Lear has a third quarter profit ( net income was $24.6 million, or 32 cents a share) reported.



Before the BK the stock was in the $5-10 range, what is going to be very interesting is how they price the stock under LEA.

Lear will host a conference call at 11 a.m. EST Wednesday to discuss its third-quarter results.

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- After falling into bankruptcy four months ago, Lear Corp. said Monday that it has emerged as a more competitive auto-parts maker with a strong balance sheet and an improving business outlook.

"We have moved through the financial restructuring process without missing a beat operationally," said Bob Rossiter, chairman and chief executive officer. "We have continued to win new business globally, strengthened our industry-leading global capabilities and the spirit of the Lear team has never been more positive."

The Southfield, Mich.-based company, which employs about 75,000 workers across 36 countries, said it cut its debt obligations by about $2.8 billion and now has more than $1 billion in cash.

Lear's debt now stands at less than $1 billion, all at competitive interest rates and no near-term maturities, according to the company.

He bought after the bankruptcy was filed, but they were still in B/R. They came out of B/R today and issued new shares, cancelling the old ones.

This maybe a dumb question but how can they just cancel shares witout buying them back? Seems like they would want to take care of their current stockholders that stuck with them through the hard times.

You really need to look at the NEWS, actually the bankrupcy agreement the Common stock is worth $0.00 as of the end of trading today or when they get approved as the NEW ticker for the restructured company.

I just reviewed the court document, the reorg plan approved.
common stock gets nothing at all.
the lowest rung of Unsecured Claims is receiving warrants for new stock, and management/employees are being granted 2.7% equity incentive in new stock. The rest is all Preferred for the debtors, or will be issued and sold to the public upon new listing.

goes to show... don't believe anything you read from any of these writers/reporters on the internet, even if it's the Wall Street Journal.
The actual Court documents are the only valid statements to consider.
