LOUIS, June 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ameren Missouri has filed a request with the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) to recover the costs of electric system upgrades and construction of new power generation assets, providing significant reliability and economic benefits to Missouri families and businesses. The PSC will conduct a thorough, 11-month review before new base electric rates take effect in mid-2027.  "Our responsibility is to provide safe, reliable and affordable service for Missouri families and businesses. "The investments we are making today are supporting reliability and strengthening storm resilience. The results are already showing up in fewer outages and better service for the communities we serve."Melda noted that from January 2025 through May 2026, the installation of storm-resistant electric infrastructure and smart technology helped prevent more than 260,000 customer outages during major storms, reducing service disruptions for customers. If approved by regulators, the proposed change in mid-2027 would increase the average residential electric bill with 1,011 kilowatt-hours of usage by about $13 a month.Today, residential rates for Ameren Missouri customers are approximately 27% below Midwest and national averages and are the lowest among Missouri's investor-owned utilitiesi. Further, Ameren Missouri customers are expected to see $21 million in projected base rate savings over the next two years, driven by committed data center customers."New data centers receive no discounts on their electric rates and are already beginning to pay for infrastructure that benefits all customers, making everyone's rates lower than they otherwise would be," Dixon said. LOUIS, May 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) has selected a consortium of Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois (ATXI), a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE); GridLiance Heartland, LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Transmission, LLC; Dairyland Power Cooperative; and the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) to develop, build, operate and maintain two major transmission projects. ATXI and GridLiance will lead the development of these projects, while Dairyland and IMEA will own a portion of both projects when they are placed in service. The Sub T – Iowa/Illinois State Line – Woodford County (STIW) and Woodford County – Illinois/Indiana State Line (WIIL) projects are the foundation of a new 765-kilovolt (kV) backbone that will deliver safe, reliable and cost-competitive energy to serve Midwest communities for decades to come. The STIW project includes the construction of two new 765-kV transmission lines spanning approximately 149 miles. One 765-kV line will run from the Woodford County Substation west to the Iowa/Illinois state line, and the other 765-kV line will continue west from the Iowa/Illinois state line to the Sub T Substation in Iowa. Excluding certain 2025 tax benefits and 2024 charges discussed below, Ameren recorded 2025 adjusted net income attributable to common shareholders of $1,370 million, or $5.03 per diluted share, compared to 2024 adjusted net income attributable to common shareholders of $1,237 million, or $4.63 per diluted share.







Adjusted earnings results for 2025 reflect strong execution of the company's strategy and solid operating performance. Higher earnings were primarily the result of increased earnings on infrastructure investments, new electric service rates and higher electric retail sales at Ameren Missouri, the latter driven primarily by favorable weather in 2025. These positive factors were partially offset by increased interest expense at Ameren Missouri and Ameren Parent and higher energy center and tree trimming expenditures that drove higher operations and maintenance expenses at Ameren Missouri. New annualized rate is $3.00 per share  ST. LOUIS, Feb. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE) today declared a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock of 75 cents per share, a 5.6 percent increase from the prior quarterly cash dividend of 71 cents per share, resulting in an annualized equivalent dividend rate of $3.00 per share. The previous annualized equivalent dividend rate was $2.84 per share.

Ameren downgraded at Barclays on Missouri regulation uncertainty

Ameren (AEE -0.1%) is downgraded to Equal Weight to Overweight with a $58 price target, trimmed from $60, at Barclays, which cites a lack of improvement in pending regulation in Missouri.

Barclays notes that language on improvements in utility regulation has been removed from Missouri legislation, and the stock trades at a 2% premium to its regulated utility group on the firm's 2019 EPS forecast.

While Barclays likes AEE's Illinois and FERC jurisdictions, without improvements in Missouri regulation it believes shares should be valued as a 5% premium instead of 9%.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says it has begun a special inspection at Ameren's (NYSE:AEE) 1,190 MW Callaway nuclear plant in Missouri to review the failure of control valves following a reactor shutdown on Aug. 11.

The NRC says inspectors will be at the plant operated by Ameren (AEE) for about a week to review the failure of three of four control valves that regulate water flow to the steam generators.

The NRC has said it was told of a similar problem in December 2014, and a third unrelated control valve problem earlier this year.

FutureGen Secures $1 Billion In Stimulus From Energy Department For Clean-Coal

Ameren Energy Resources Company, LLC (AER) —the holding company for merchant generation for Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE)—today announced that it has signed a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that could lead to repowering an oil-fired unit at AER's Meredosia Power Plant near Jacksonville, Ill. This would create the world's first, full-scale, oxy-combustion coal-fired plant designed for permanent carbon dioxide (CO2 ) capture and storage.

Capture and storage of the greenhouse gas CO2 is critical to reducing these power plant emissions, which have been linked to global climate change. The project is part of the initiative known as FutureGen 2.0, which calls for transporting the captured CO2 over a new regional pipeline to a new, deep saline injection storage facility to be developed by others in Illinois. It is estimated that FutureGen 2.0 could eventually bring as many as 900 jobs to central Illinois.

Now that this agreement has been signed, Ameren and its partners, The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) and Air Liquide Process & Construction, Inc. (Air Liquide), expect to spend the next nine months completing Phase 1 of the proposed project, which includes the initial engineering, design and economic analysis for repowering this unit. In addition, during Phase 1, the partners will validate the project's scope, cost, schedule and commercial viability.

If Phase 1 results determine the project to be technically and commercially sound, then DOE would authorize Phase 2 of the project, which would include detailed engineering design, schedule and cost analysis as well as environmental studies to support the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process and effluent permitting.

In parallel with the Phase 2 studies, the partners will approach the Illinois legislature for a change in state law to establish a cost recovery mechanism for the project. In addition, project leaders will address the issue of long-term liability with respect to the CO2 pipeline and sequestration, to be supplied by participants other than Ameren and its partners.

Successful completion of Phases 1 and 2 studies and enactment of the supporting legislation will be necessary before Phase 3 is authorized.

Phase 3 will include the procurement and construction activities necessary to repower the Meredosia Plant's 200-megawatt Unit 4. If approved by the Ameren Board of Directors, these activities could begin in the second quarter of 2012 with a target completion date in the fourth quarter of 2015.

In August, the three companies announced that they had been selected by the DOE to negotiate the installation of this technology, which is designed to produce clean energy from coal by capturing and storing approximately 1.3 million tons of CO2 each year, or 90 percent of the plant's expected CO2 emissions.

The AER plant would use an innovative coal-fired oxy-combustion CO2 capture technology, designed to use oxygen, instead of air, during combustion, removing the flyash, nitrogen oxide, and sulfur dioxide and leaving the flue gas composed of nearly pure CO2, suitable for compression and storage in deep geologic formations. B&W and Air Liquide have successfully pilot-tested coal-fired oxy-combustion at B&W's research facility in Alliance, Ohio, supported by Air Liquide's technology developments at its research and development facility in Newark, Del.

"We are excited to move forward with our partners—B&W and Air Liquide—on the next step toward building a near-zero emission facility—a generating plant that will serve as an invaluable testing ground for these critical new clean energy technologies," said Charles Naslund, president and chief executive officer of AER.
