INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- 1070 The Fan (WFNI-AM) has
announced that Bob Kravitz, co-host of the Kravitz & Eddie show
(3 - 6 p.m. weekdays) and Indianapolis Star sports columnist, will
make good on his promise to walk to Kokomo if guard Jamal Tinsley
was on the opening night roster for the Indiana Pacers. He was, and
Bob will. Due to safety concerns and highway traffic issues,
Kravitz will walk the first 34 miles of the journey on a treadmill
in the atrium of the Emmis Building on Monday, Nov. 17, Tuesday,
Nov. 18, and Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., and then
walk the remaining miles into Kokomo on US 31 on Thursday, Nov. 20.
at approximately 2:30. He will end up at the Buffalo Wild Wings at
1803 East Markland Avenue at around 3 p.m. where he and Eddie White
will do their regularly scheduled show. WFNI The Fan Program
Director Kent Sterling said, "We're happy that we can exploit Bob's
innocuous threat to help raise money for a great cause while
helping Bob get in better physical condition." Local celebrities
have been invited to join Kravitz on an adjacent treadmill in the
Emmis Atrium to bring awareness and donations to the ALS
Association, which is dedicated to improving the lives of those who
suffer from ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease). Starting
Kravitz off on his walk will be Indiana First Lady Cheri Daniels at
1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17 in the Emmis Atrium on Monument Circle.
Kravitz, 48, has been the sports columnist for the Indianapolis
Star since 2000. He's worked for several publications, including
Sports Illustrated and the Rocky Mountain News. He's done previous
radio work for The Fan in Denver (SportsRadio 950) and is a regular
contributor to ESPN TV and Radio. DATASOURCE: Emmis Communications
