Byrna Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:BYRN) reported fiscal first-quarter 2026 results on Thursday that came in below Wall Street expectations, with both profit and revenue missing analyst forecasts.The company’s shares fell 4.78% in premarket trading following the release.The personal defense technology company posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.03, falling short of the $0.09 analysts had expected.Quarterly revenue totaled $29.05 million, below the consensus estimate of $30.1 million, although still up 11% from $26.2 million recorded in the same quarter last year. Net income came in at $0.8 million, compared with $1.7 million in the year-earlier period.Gross profit rose to $17.4 million, representing 60% of revenue, compared with $15.9 million, or 61% of revenue, in the first quarter of fiscal 2025.Operating expenses increased 16% to $16.5 million from $14.2 million, driven primarily by higher spending on advertising and marketing aimed at expanding retail distribution and boosting brand visibility. Adjusted EBITDA declined to $2.2 million from $3.0 million in the same period last year.During the quarter, Byrna expanded its retail footprint, launching a partnership with Academy Sports + Outdoors that targets placement in roughly 200 to 250 stores by the end of the year. The company also added 14 new Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply locations.Byrna introduced its CL-XL launcher during the period and rolled out a new product selection tool on its website.CEO Conn Davis said, “Our fiscal first quarter results reflect real demand for our solutions while also highlighting clear areas where we need to improve execution. In the near term, our focus is on three priorities. First, driving deeper penetration across our retail and dealer channels, which we view as our single biggest growth opportunity over the next 12 to 18 months.”Davis added that performance in the fiscal second quarter is currently trending below expectations. The company chose not to issue formal quarterly guidance, noting that ongoing operational adjustments in demand generation, website conversion, retail productivity, and internal forecasting could lead to greater variability in near-term results.Byrna reported cash and marketable securities of $9.6 million as of February 28, 2026, down from $15.5 million at November 30, 2025. Yes, but look what is flowing out. Think time to add is now with this sell off of almost the entire big boards. Someone doesn't appreciate the balls of the country's CEO and the outrage at being exposed due to recently released EPPY baby files. OMG!! Opportunity in volatility!

It's heading back up now. We all were shocked about the company selling off shares but revenues tell the real story. Time to add again. :)

what are the odds of this ever getting back to $30? I always thought this would be a buyout target for one of the big pellet gun makers like Umarex.

Scopped up some the other day. Here's an AI response to a question I gave it "Byrna also has a "Law Enforcement" division, which sells less-lethal launchers, including the SD and LE pistol series, to police departments and other agencies for riot control and de-escalation. However, this does not confirm adoption by ICE." :)

I sold some of my stock the other week when it went over 32 to get my initial investment back.

Still feel confident about the products and company.

Funny that institutions sold big one day before Nvidias CEO remarks about Quantum Computing.

Quantum stocks plunged 50% after his remarks.

I think the company is strong.  Stock rose rapidly so not surprised it's lower and leveling off.

Yep! Great to see sales are increasing

BYRN new 52 week high.

I bought a little today. Earnings out tomorrow. Sales preannounced and those are growing. Lots of controversy on this one. If this turns into another AXON would be nice. Solid financials, lots of new markets to enter, needs consistent profitability to really get going.

I thought revenue and projections were doing well. Big drop in stock price. Investors selling out?

Yes, there are many options that they have available that would be just as effective or even better than tasers for back up. I think this company has a lot of great options. I should visit there facility sometime, as they are only 20 miles from me. Sean Hannity sponsors them and I hear the commercials all the time on the radio. I know if I had daughters in high school or college I’d make sure they had some of their products.

Of course. You may have misunderstood me. Would never want police to give up their firearms. But tasers have many disadvantages compared to Byrna. So in situations where a taser is usually used a Byrna would be a better choice. I was just hoping law enforcement would replace their tasers with a Byrna

Tasers only for the PD without a .45 backup will definitely get more police officers killed. I think police need guns and tasers.

I agree as far as citizens. But what about law enforcement in situations where they are currently using tasers?

Maybe in other countries, but I definitely don’t want to see it here in the US. I’d rather see liberals buying this, as they are.
I’ll stick to my .45’s. Byrna does have a lot of great products especially for ladies and their teen kids.

I would have thought that Byrna would be used by most law enforcement by now. It has advantages over tasers. What’s the delay in convincing them?
