                 BEA - BERGESEN ORDERS LNG CARRIER

Bergesen has entered into a preliminary agreement with the Korean yard Deawoo
Heavy Industries Ltd. for construction of a LNG-carrier of 138.000 cbm, of the
membran type.

The vessel will be delivered in first quarter of 2003.  Final contract price is
expected to be about USD 150 million.

Bergesen will have option to order one additional LNG-carrier for delivery in
second half of 2003.

Final agreement is expected to be signed early April 2000.
