Carabella Resources Taps BHP's Anthony Quin Managing Director

Australian coal explorer Carabella Resources Ltd. (CLR.AU) said Monday it has appointed Anthony Quin, a veteran of mining giant BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP), as managing director with immediate effect.

Quin spent 14 years with BHP, the last two as chief development officer at its metallurgical coal division.

"He [Quin] was a key member of the BHP Billiton leadership team that oversaw a multi-billion dollar capital expenditure program. He has led a number of large scale corporate transactions and at the same time has an impressive track record in leading and developing small teams," Andrew Amer, chairman of Carabella, said in a statement.

Quin said he was joining Carabella at a critical stage in its development, and was attracted to the company's top tier metallurgical coal asset at Grosvenor West.
