Marlton Technologies, Inc. (AMEX:MTY) today reported results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2005. Net sales of $18.8 million for the first quarter of 2005 increased 1.5% from the comparable prior year period. Net income increased to $956,000 ($0.06 per fully diluted share) in the first quarter 2005 from $905,000 ($0.07 per fully diluted share) in the corresponding period of 2004. The 2005 net income was impacted by several factors, including a bad debt recovery of $575,000 partially offset by an inventory reserve of $175,000 and initial transition costs of approximately $250,000 associated with the Showtime Enterprises, Inc. business acquired on March 15, 2005.
