US Global Jets ETF (JETS)

JETS has been a good stock to trade around my core position. Here's what the last three years have looked like:



I've been trading roughly 10% of the position at each inflection point. Here's a line graph with the trades shown:


This next histogram shows a stacked bar figure with the stock value on top and the accumulated cash on the bottom. The portfolio value is the sum of these two components.


All in all, just letting the market lead the way to my GTC limit orders has worked quite well.

This is a nice, positive rally this AM on the Iran ceasefire news. It would be nice to know the ceasefire was going to work and hostilities would end.

We parted with another 10% of our JETS shares yesterday at a nice profit. The next sell target for the same percentage of shares will trigger at around $32/share. Should JETS head for an emergency landing, we'll add back 12% more shares around $22.

JETS had a good day yesterday.

Accumulation started to build in late August and has continued nicely since.
I last purchased shares in Sept of 2022 at $15.82 and yesterday let some of them go at $24.12 for a solid LIFO gain of +52%. I trade a few shares around the core holding.

hopefully goes to 20's again, should have taken more of the table in the 20's, can't time em all gl.

airline stocks been a weird one. The demand is there but now the problem is worker shortage so they are cutting back flights. Also oil being up doesn't help but i think most hedged when oil was at low's a year or two back. Don't think it will be problem unless oil is still this high a year from now.

They're not particularly thrilled with current JETS prospects. Maybe it's not meant to be a "Buy and Hold" but a "Buy and Manage" investment.

We added JETS as a pandemic recovery play originally. Then to trade small portions around the core position. We'll probably own it still in five more years.

25 has been key resistance area. It has tried to breach that number a few times only for it go back down. Hopefully this round breaks it for good when it tests that area again

I'll let some shares go at around $25 to refund my cash reserves for JETS. With a sale there, I'll still have 90% of the shares left for the climb up toward $30/sh.

22's again one of these days we will see 30's long long term swing

delta airline giving a lift to travel etf. The one bogey now is oil costs, unless some of the airlines locked in cheaper prices awhile back.

22's again this is area where it has trouble holding hopefully by next few earning reports from airlines it will get out of this range for good.

Hi MC,

I picked up an additional 17% more shares at $17.46 on Monday. That new inventory is already nicely profitable.

Energy costs are going to be an upset for the airlines that actually make money. I hear ticket prices are soaring along with fuel costs.

My JETS position is still -20% below my next incremental sell price. My next buy price is about that same percentage below the current price/share.

News Flash -

All major Airlines will be replacing their regular flight attendants with MMA fighters.

It is felt this should help calm things down a bit.....

Agreed. I'm also watching MESA which is the short hop carrier for United and American. 52 week high of $17.40 and a low of $5.16. Right now it's 5.77. Generally it makes money. It will be very sensitive to passenger miles flown domestically.

JETS is my main holding and MESA's my small specialty airline holding.

I've been biding my time. I've set my buy and sell targets pretty far apart so there's not been much trading recently. The range is high teens to high twenties. Trade sizes would be roughly ten percent of the core holding value.

Accumulation around this price should do well going forward. But the markets have been acting a bit nervous recently.

Hi K, Re: Airline/Travel stocks..............

I have JETS and MESA for airlines and PK for travel related to airlines. JETS and PK I bought as "covid" recovery possibilities in 2020 and MESA just a short time ago for continued recovery. All have done well for me since starting them.

Generally I use GTC Limit orders on the Sell side for about 5% to 10% of the positions at target prices. Buy side I usually wait until my buy targets are passed and then buy shares.
