Torani’s market research experts know consumers love honey for
its versatility as a key ingredient in both sweet and savory foods
and beverages. According to Torani’s market research, honey ranked
in the top five of consumers' favorite fall drink flavors,
outpacing maple and entering into the realm of pumpkin spice,
indicating an opportunity for honey-inspired beverage innovation.
Say goodbye to maple, because this sweet and salty syrup is taking
over as the season’s new favorite. Suggested applications for
Torani Salted Honey Butter Syrup include cold brew toppers, hot
cocoas, iced coffees, lattes, mochas, and milkshakes.
“Salted Honey Butter is one of the most complex flavors we’ve
ever created at Torani. With notes of sweet butter, clover honey,
and a slight hint of chamomile, it gives drinks a distinct
craveability,” said Andrea Ramirez, Consumer & Customer Market
Insight Manager at Torani. “During the testing phase, our team had
fun flavoring cold brew or mixing it with iced coffee, before
topping it off with Salted Honey Butter whipped cream or cold foam.
You might even see someone in the office drizzling Salted Honey
Butter Syrup on top of their favorite cereal for a little extra
sweetness.”
Countless food and drink applications with honey have received
substantial national attention across menus and store shelves in
recent years, ranging from ready-to-eat honey butter to hot honey.
As a brand that makes delicious beverage flavors, Torani tapped
into consumer familiarity, Gen Z appeal, and the ongoing “Sweet
and…” trend to create Salted Honey Butter Syrup, a layered, bold
and complex flavor perfect for a wide range of recipes. Salted
honey and honey butter flavor variations continue to gain momentum
in the food space among distinguished brands including Cretors,
Land O’Lakes, Lay’s, Oberweis, Popcornopolis, Tillamook, and
Whataburger.
Honey butter has roots in the southern United States, but has
more recently garnered wider appeal in South Korea within the
sweet, snack, and breakfast categories after the release of Haitai
Calbee’s Honey Butter Chip in 2014 and Healthy But Awesome Flavors’
(HBAF) Honey Butter Almond in 2015. Korean flavors are currently
“on fire,” according to market research firm Datassential –
especially among younger generations, as 43% of Gen Z and 40% of
millennials said they like or love the region’s flavors.
Torani Salted Honey Butter Syrup retails for $10.59 and is
available to order now on Torani.com.
