The Facility leverages patented, highly scalable nonfood camelina varieties to produce renewable fuel that delivers up to 90% lower carbon and greenhouse gas emissions than petroleum-based diesel. With a design capacity of up to approximately 210 million gallons annually, the Facility not only produces renewable diesel but also generates other sustainable co-products, such as renewable propane and renewable butane, contributing to cleaner air quality and a more sustainable energy future.

Camelina is used as an ultra-low carbon feedstock for advanced biofuels production. It is an “intermediate crop” planted between main crops in Argentina during winter, helping to preserve soil health, especially between summer crops of soy and corn. It is already promoted in Argentina by LDC and Global Clean Energy, as part of their strategic collaboration since 2023.
The collaboration announced today is aligned with LDC's global sustainability strategy, a key focus of which is to contribute to global climate goals by driving decarbonization in its operations and supply chains, including through efforts to drive adoption of regenerative agriculture practices in key supply sheds.

Global Clean Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:GCEH) today announced key advancements to accelerate adoption of Camelina sativa (camelina) in areas with higher use of two key herbicide groups, Group 2 and Group 14. This development will allow the Company's patented camelina varieties to be planted in fields treated with residual herbicides, previously off-limits to planting of camelina.
A new Global Clean Energy camelina variety has confirmed resistance to imazamox and imazethapyr, the active ingredients in Beyond1 and Pursuit1 (Group 2 herbicides). The commercial launch of this new herbicide resistant camelina variety is expected in 2025. Additionally, Global Clean Energy has tested over 6,000 lines from its camelina tilling library and found tolerance to PPO herbicides (Group 14), such as sulfentrazone contained in Spartan2 and Sonic3 herbicides. The Company is initiating introgression of this trait across elite lines in an accelerated breeding program.

Intelinair is one of 17 company and university partners named to this pilot project utilizing its leading models and analytics to provide crop production analysis and crop yield estimation.

Camelina is an annual or winter annual in the Brassicaceae, or mustard family, that originated in Northern Europe. Camelina is an oilseed crop that can be used to produce ultra-low carbon renewable fuels. Generally grown as a summer or winter annual, camelina is a water and nutrient-efficient, short-season crop ready for harvest within 85 to 100 days from seeding. Each acre of camelina can result in ~100 gallons of renewable diesel equivalent without causing land use change. Camelina has among the lowest carbon intensity (CI) scores of available feedstocks on the market, and renewable fuels produced with camelina varieties can achieve a Net Zero or below CI score. It is grown on fallow land or as a rotational harvestable cover crop alternative, providing cover crop benefits to the land on which it is grown without contributing to land use change.

Global Clean Energy Holdings Inc. (OTCQB:GCEH) today announced that its subsidiaries Sustainable Oils, Inc. (North America) and Camelina Company (Europe and South America) worked with growers to contract a record 65,000 acres of camelina crop during the 2023 growing season. The total acreage comes from across the globe including the Western U.S., Argentina, France, and Spain.
Camelina is a resilient oilseed crop that can be used in the production of renewable fuels and sustainable aviation fuel. It is produced as an intermediate crop, grown between planting cycles on land that would otherwise be left idle or fallow, providing cover crop benefits to the land but harvested at maturity to generate incremental revenue for growers. The Company believes additive revenues for farmers growing camelina to be especially beneficial for developing rural agricultural communities. Camelina grown as an intermediate crop does not generate land use change causing it to have among the lowest carbon intensities of any available feedstock on the market.

The multi-year contract is made possible by a $30 million U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Climate-Smart Commodities Grant, which was awarded to Global Clean Energy for the purposes of developing camelina as an ultra-low carbon renewable fuel feedstock and building associated climate-smart renewable fuels markets. (OTCQB:GCEH) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) have signed a contract for the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Grant for their Climate-Smart Camelina Project. With the signing, work can officially begin on their $30 million pilot project to measure and validate the advantages of Camelina sativa (camelina) as an ultra-low carbon nonfood renewable fuel feedstock.
Climate-Smart Camelina is a large-scale pilot project to implement, measure, and validate the climate advantages of camelina in both rotational (e.g., on fallow acres) and winter crop (e.g., in a double-crop rotation) production systems. The project will accelerate farmers' adoption of camelina grown to produce feedstock for renewable biofuels and chemicals without causing land-use change and while increasing carbon capture in the soil. Further, the project will support market development to provide additional revenue streams to growers and provide a premium for this low carbon intensity crop.

On January 10, 2023, Bakersfield Renewable Fuels, LLC (“BKRF”), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Global Clean Energy Holdings, Inc. (“we,” “us,” “our” and the “Company”) entered into Amendment No. 2 (the “Amendment”) to that certain Turnkey Agreement with a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction, dated May 18, 2021 (as amended, the “EPC Agreement”), by and between BKRF and CTCI Americas, Inc. (“CTCI”).
Pursuant to the Amendment, BKRF and CTCI agreed to, among other things: (i) a new Guaranteed Maximum Price of $275 million (subject to adjustment pending final settlement of certain change orders pursuant to the procedures set forth in the Amendment) (the “New GMP”); (ii) a change to the payment dates for costs and fees that are payable to CTCI under the Agreement, which will now be payable after substantial completion of our Bakersfield Renewable Fuels refinery (the “Project”) in 18 monthly installments plus interest, except for amounts pertaining to owner approved change orders in am ounts above $275 million which would be due within 7 days of any such change orders unless agreed by BKRF and CTCI to be included in the deferred payment ; and (iii) provide for liquidated damages commencing on a new substantial completion date of March 31, 2023, which may only be adjusted in accordance with the Agreement. In connection with the Amendment, the Company agreed to provide a payment guarantee in favor of CTCI for amounts that may be owed by BKRF under the EPC Agreement, pursuant to an Owner Parent Guarantee, dated as of January 10, 2023, by and between the Company and CTCI (the “Guarantee”).

Today the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced Global Clean Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB:GCEH) was selected for participation in the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities grant program. The company was awarded up to $30 million for a pilot project to measure and validate the advantages of camelina as an ultra-low carbon renewable fuel feedstock. Altogether the program received over 450 applications for this initial funding pool.

Global Clean Energy (GCEH) has effectively advanced our transformational goals in a period marked by an ongoing multidimensional global pandemic, anthropogenic climate change, and geopolitical instability. Our average share price from 2019 to 2021 has increased nearly 750% all ahead of revenue generation that will come from the operation of our Bakersfield Renewable Fuels Refinery, which will begin producing in the coming months.
GCEH has been successful during these challenging times because we know that to truly have an impact on climate change, we need to do so responsibly without impacting food security. In order to succeed, energy transition businesses need to be environmentally sustainable, socially sustainable, and also economically sustainable. GCEH is one of the few energy transition businesses that legitimately accomplishes all three. Starting with our nonfood camelina feedstocks, we have built the pathway for continued growth as we invest in our Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream businesses. Simple Strategy
Intertwined with our vertically integrated farm-to-fuel model, is our focus on ensuring scalable growth, doing more with less, and having the greatest impact. Many have noted that the single largest constraint to the growth of renewable fuels is the unmet supply of sustainable feedstocks to meet future market demand. By acquiring companies that add value to our production platform, strategically building assets across the value chain to reduce cost and increase margins, and expanding globally through strategic partnerships, our team is doing our part and making great strides toward meeting the global feedstock deficit responsibly. This buy, build, expand strategy is evidenced in our company's growth this past year.
Strategic Implementation
Global Clean Energy is focused on the future when investing in and developing advantaged assets and intellectual property. By establishing a robust upstream platform that our future growth will be based on, we will be self-sustaining and capital-light. In 2021 we made great strides in advancing this platform.
Upstream
Acquisition of Camelina Company Espana - Significantly bolstering our upstream operations, Global Clean Energy acquired Camelina Company Espana (CCE), the largest camelina supplier in Europe. This acquisition successfully brings GCEH's upstream model into the global marketplace. Through this purchase we significantly expanded our intellectual property portfolio and agriculture support capabilities, allowing us to further expand our camelina business into Europe and South America. It allows us to scale our deployment platform through strategic partnerships covering thousands of farmers and tens of millions of fallow acres in these markets.
Acquisition of Agribody Technologies (ATI) - Purchasing ATI allowed us to speed up the global development of novel non-GMO camelina varieties using advanced plant science technologies. ATI holds 15 issued U.S. patents for bioengineering key genetic switches (gene editing). We have also expanded our in-house resources to further speed up the breeding process for enhanced traits by utilizing the power of genomics.
Acquisition of Entira, Inc. - By acquiring this agribusiness, consultancy, and marketing firm, which we partnered with for years, we gained in-house expertise for our U.S. camelina agronomy team by supporting its efforts in grower development, education, and support. Through this strategic acquisition, we bolstered our U.S. camelina production strategy and expanded our camelina development program.
Relocation of Upstream Business Headquarters - Our upstream growth isn't limited to acquisitions. We also relocated our upstream business headquarters, Sustainable Oils, to a state-of-the-art complex in Great Falls, Montana. From this existing agricultural facility, complete with labs and local agricultural support personnel, we can better service our farmers across the Northern Plains, Pacific Northwest and throughout the Midwest.
Midstream
Grain storage facility construction - Our midstream growth this year was bolstered with our acquisition of a 42-acre parcel of land located adjacent to a CHS shuttle train loading facility in Harve, Montana, where we plan to construct 600,000 bushels of grain processing and storage. By reducing the need for intermediaries in our midstream operations, we keep costs down and ensure the quality and reliability of the camelina feedstock delivered to our downstream operation in Bakersfield, California. Moving forward, we plan to build four additional camelina aggregation points as well as other storage infrastructure co-located with existing shuttle train facilities to further streamline midstream logistics.
Downstream
ExxonMobil Strategic Relationship - Perhaps our most significant growth this year came through expanding our strategic relationship with Exxon Mobil Corporation and its affiliates ("ExxonMobil"), which invested $125M in our business, further validating our vertical farm-to-fuel strategy. The investment is in addition to existing long-term supply agreements in which ExxonMobil has committed to purchasing up to 210 million gallons (5 million barrels) per year of renewable diesel from our Bakersfield Renewable Fuels Refinery. ExxonMobil's investment ensures a lasting relationship that will accelerate our nonfood camelina production in key growing regions, and expand efforts to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector.
Impactful Solutions
There is no doubt that renewable fuels have environmental, social, and economic benefits. They help reduce transportation-related carbon emissions by burning cleanly and acting as a drop-in replacement for traditional petroleum-based fuels. Their expanded use reduces our reliance on foreign oil imports and will contribute to improving air quality. By converting our sustainably produced camelina oil to drop-in renewable fuels, we are reducing pressure on food land and competition for scarce water resources, positively impacting global food security. Global Clean Energy Holdings Closes $145 Million Equity Financing and Appoints Two New Board Members

LOS ANGELES--( BUSINESS WIRE )-- Global Clean Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTCQX: GCEH ), a vertically integrated renewable fuels company, announced that it has completed a $145,000,000 financing led by ExxonMobil through the issuance of a newly created non-convertible Series C Preferred Stock. The net proceeds will be used to complete the conversion of the Companyâ??s Bakersfield, California, biorefinery project and to advance the development of its proprietary camelina feedstock production business. The Company also announced that it has added Ms. Amy K. Woods and Mr. E. Nicholas Jones to its Board of Directors.

Ms. Woods is currently the Americas Feed & Product Manager for Fuels and Lubricants Division of Exxon Mobil Corporation and is responsible for supply chain optimization for Americas crude and products and bio-fuels business development. She joined ExxonMobil in 1994 and has served in various roles including refinery process design, logistics optimizations, strategic advisor positions and team development for renewable business initiatives. She has a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville.
Mr. Jones has been the Process Engineering Division Manager for ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Company since 2019. He is responsible for technology deployment and technical support to ExxonMobil's global manufacturing sites for refining technologies, process safety and environmental activities.
