The 2026 program includes approximately 9,500 m of combined diamond and sonic drilling across the two critical metals projects, including up to 7,500 m at Macpass and up to 2,000 m at Mactung. These activities will support an updated Feasibility Study, which commenced earlier in 2026 and establishes the foundation for future licensing and permitting efforts. The Company also plans to conduct near-deposit and regional gravity and soil sampling at the Tom and Amax areas in the southeast of the property.2026 Macpass Drill ProgramTom South ~6,000 m—Step out drilling at Tom South will follow up down dip and along strike of high-grade intercepts from 2023 and 2024, and 2025. Initial drilling will finish TS25-003, a 450 m step out down dip of the inferred Tom South resource margin which was paused at the end of 2025 in laminated sulphide mineralization due to seasonal constraints. TS25-003 is 300 m down dip of the notable intercept from 2025 TS25-001D1, 54.28 m (30 m true width2) of 33.23% ZnEq* (18.20% zinc, 13.93% lead, and 161.0 g/t silver).Tom East ~1,500 m—Following the successful imaging of Boundary Zone during the 2024–2025 muon survey, and successful follow up exploration drilling, Fireweed intends to leverage this technology in a near-deposit expansion program targeting the high-grade Tom East area and to deploy muon detectors to generate a comprehensive density image of the subsurface.2026 Macpass Regional ProgramFireweed intends to continue regional exploration efforts on our vast underexplored (~948 km2) land package. - NB23-007 also intersected a separate, lower zone of 118 m (40 m true width) grading 15.1% zinc, 2.8% lead, and 85.8 g/t silver including 77.07 m (26 m true width) of 18.7% zinc, 3.5% lead, and 101.4 g/t silver.

Initial results from the first 18 holes of the 2023 program have confirmed the connection between Boundary Main and Boundary West.

The Boundary Zone stratiform mineralization has a strike length of over 400 m and has been followed down-dip for at least 350 metres.
This zone is trending to higher grades and greater thicknesses at depth, where it remains open.
NB23-003 intersected 71.89 m of 6.48% zinc, 3.09% lead, 97.8 g/t silver, including 21.96 m of 10.70% zinc, 6.96% lead, and 178.6 g/t silver.
NB23-001 intersected 38.00 m of 9.12% zinc, 1.50% lead, 52.6 g/t silver, including 20.00 m of 15.32% zinc, 2.53% lead, 86.2 g/t silver.

The coarse nature of the sphalerite means that a relatively coarse grind size is all that is needed to produce a high-grade zinc concentrate with high recoveries. We have shown that Boundary Zone, like Tom and Jason, can produce high-quality zinc concentrates that we anticipate would be attractive to global markets. High concentrations of germanium and moderate concentrations of gallium in the zinc concentrates highlight the potential for recovery of these critical metals as by-products during the zinc smelting process. Even though we see by far the most potential economic value in the zinc, the addition of germanium and gallium to the mix brings the total of different critical metals present at Boundary Zone to three. This elevates the potential of the Macmillan Pass project to be one of Canada’s leading critical minerals projects.”

Plain Language Summary

Preliminary test work has been carried out on samples from Fireweed’s new zinc discovery at Boundary Zone at the Macmillan Pass project, Yukon. These tests provide an initial impression of how the zinc- and lead-bearing rocks may respond to crushing, grinding, and processing to produce zinc and lead concentrates. The test results are very promising: the rocks have a moderate to moderately high hardness; a reasonably coarse grind size is sufficient to liberate zinc and lead minerals; and high-grade zinc concentrates can be produced from most of the material tested from Boundary Zone with only small amounts of zinc loss during processing.

Lead is only a minor component of the mineralization at Boundary Zone and only samples with appreciable amounts of lead were metallurgically tested with a dedicated lead circuit. Lead test work results were variable and generally poorer than for zinc. With the relatively low lead content of Boundary Zone shown to date, this likely limits the overall economic importance of lead. Likewise, there is limited silver in much of Boundary Zone Main, and the samples showed low silver grades.

This metallurgical testing showed variable results for the limited silver in the material tested, however silver has never been of material economic importance in this zone. Ore sorting is a process where mined material is scanned for various properties, including density and metal concentration, and then sorted to remove waste before milling.

The test work results showed that the low-grade material that surrounds the higher grade zones at Boundary Main has properties which make it suitable for ore sorting, and there exists an exciting possibility of deploying this technology to reduce costs and improve economics at the project. Higher grade zones would likely not be sorted to prevent any losses of the higher-value material during the sorting process. The test work is preliminary in nature, and further testing is required to more accurately predict the behaviour of Boundary Zone material during processing. However, the results suggest metallurgical performance for zinc could be excellent and should not be an impediment in demonstrating reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction.

Tungsten – the other critical metal and a way to play it

One key theme at the PDAC convention this year – Canada’s annual mining convention, sponsored by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada – was the idea of so-called “critical metals”

All this, and for well over a century the metal was essential to making old fashioned incandescent light bulbs – in fact, General Electric once held a patent on its use for just that purpose.

For now, we’ll skip the deep history and just note again that the key global supplier is China. ‘Nuff said on that, right?

So, is there any tungsten in North America, you may wonder? Well, yes! And I visited a truly remarkable site on a recent trip up to the Yukon.

I’m pleased to report that there’s a superb tungsten deposit in Canada, straddling the border of Yukon and Northwest Territories. It’s called MacTung, located at the very top of a high mountain, running along a glacial-carved ridge.

This year a company called Fireweed Metals Corp. (TSXV: FWZ; OTCQB: FWEDF) bought the MacTung claims from the government – interesting story; too long to discuss here. But it’s a Fireweed play now.

If you follow such things, Fireweed Metals used to be called Fireweed Zinc, and in fact the company just changed its name in the past couple of weeks.

FIREWEED ZINC MOBILIZES FIELD CREWS FOR $10M DRILL PROGRAM AT MACMILLAN PASS

Highlights

Hole TS21-001 intersected 10.41% zinc, 11.58% lead, and 149.9 g/t silver over 7.99 m (true width 2.46 m) within a broader interval of 6.92% zinc, 5.03% lead, and 48.7 g/t silver over 37.99 m (11.70 m true width).
Tom East is the highest-grade deposit on the property and remains open for expansion.
Assay results from the last two holes at Boundary West are pending.

Results from these step-out holes continue to show that Boundary West is growing and expand the known extent of the high-grade laminated zones, massive to semi-massive sulphides, and additional wide zones of vein-hosted mineralization.


Highlights

- Step-out hole NB21-008 intersected a wide zone of mineralization at Boundary West grading 5.41% zinc, 0.19% lead, and 10.5 g/t silver over 73.35 m including 10.39% Zinc, 0.16% Lead and 15.7 g/t Silver over 16.09 m, extending mineralization to depth.
- High-grade laminated mineralization was intersected in NB21-006, NB21-007 and NB21-008, stepping out from the original discovery of this zone earlier in 2021.
- Boundary West remains open at depth, and geological features continue to indicate that higher grade zones may be encountered with additional step-out drilling.

- A new, copper-rich style of mineralization was encountered in NB21-005, grading 1.54% copper, 5.42% zinc, 0.04% lead, and 5.6 g/t silver over 2.00 m.
- Step-out hole NB21-005 intersected a wide zone of vein hosted mineralization at Boundary Zone grading 2.35% zinc, 0.01% lead, and 4.6 g/t silver over 203.05 m, extending the mineralized zone to depth.
- The broader 203.05 m intersection included wide higher-grade zones such as 34.45 m of 4.61% zinc, 0.01% lead, and 8.9 g/t silver.
