When I read articles like this, I can’t help thinking why don’t any of these large foreign drug companies just acquire a US based drug manufacturer like Elite Pharmaceuticals to mitigate their tariff instantly, and then just sell off the generic line of business to other companies.

It’s not a Hollywood movie.
Buyouts and mergers are announced whenever an agreement is made to be put to shareholders. Their timeline isn’t dependent on some big reveal in a CC.
