Henry Schein One Releases 2026 Catalyst Index, Revealing Clinical Performance as the Primary Driver of GrowthMay 14, 2026 6:30 AM
Business Wire Top performers achieve 75% case acceptance vs. 45% industry average, signaling that clinical consistency, not scale alone, drives predictable growth and enterprise value Henry Schein One, the global leader in dental technology, today announced the release of its 2026 Catalyst Index, the fifth edition of its annual benchmarking report analyzing performance across tens of thousands of DSOs, multi-location organizations, and private practices. This year’s data points to a clear and urgent shift for the industry: in a slower economy, growth is no longer determined by scale or efficiency alone; it is driven by clinical execution. Across both DSOs and independent practices, the highest-performing organizations consistently outperform their peers not because they are larger, but because they deliver more complete, consistent care. It is clear that growth-focused practices invest in building patient trust at the chairside. That difference shows directly in financial outcomes. According to the 2026 Catalyst Index, top performers achieve 75% case acceptance compared to 45% for the average practice, alongside stronger production, collections, and patient engagement, reinforcing that performance begins at the point of care and carries through the entire business. “Across the data, the pattern is consistent. Growth follows clinical performance,” said Dr. Ryan Hungate, Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer, Henry Schein One. “When clinicians are supported to deliver complete care and clear communication, patients move forward with treatment. That’s what drives predictable revenue. It starts chairside and flows through the entire system.” The report challenges one of the industry’s most persistent assumptions: that scale alone creates better outcomes. Performance varies widely within every segment. Smaller practices often match or outperform larger groups, while many DSOs face increasing complexity without corresponding gains in efficiency or profitability. For operators and investors, the implication is clear: growth strategies built on scale alone increase complexity, while scaling consistent clinical execution drives predictable performance and long-term value creation. “The idea that scale automatically creates better performance doesn’t always hold up,” said Brian Colao, Director of the DSO Industry Group, Dykema. “What separates leading organizations is consistency in clinical care, patient experience, and execution across locations. That consistency is what ultimately enables scale to translate into performance.” At the same time, the 2026 data reveals a growing disconnection. While operational metrics like scheduling efficiency have improved, patient retention declined from 72% to 64% year over year, and case acceptance softened across segments — signaling that efficiency gains alone are not translating into long-term growth. For private practices, the implications are equally clear. “We’re using the Catalyst Index as a benchmark to understand where we’re strong and where we need to improve,” said Amy Kaminski, Office Manager, Dawson Family Dentistry. “It helps us focus less on doing more, and more on doing the right things consistently — especially when it comes to patient communication and case acceptance.” The 2026 Catalyst Index is available in two editions, one tailored for DSOs and multi-location organizations, and one for private practices, providing segment-specific benchmarks and actionable insights. The report is supported by leading industry organizations, including Dykema, Association of Dental Support Organizations, and the American Association of Dental Office Management. Dental leaders can explore the full findings and see how their organization compares by downloading the report at henryscheinone.com. The 2026 Catalyst Index debuts this week at CDA Anaheim, where Henry Schein One will be engaging with industry leaders on what the data signals for the future of dentistry. At the booth, the team will share how connected workflows, embedded AI, and innovations like the Next Generation Clinical Workflow and MCP layer in Dentrix Ascend are helping practices turn clinical performance into predictable growth and more consistent financial outcomes. Dentrix Ascend Opens Its MCP Layer, Bringing AI Agents and a Custom Build Platform to Dental PracticesApril 28, 2026 10:04 AM
Business Wire
A new MCP layer gives ambitious practices, DSOs, and developers three ways to work smarter: Ask questions of their data with natural language; run live AI agents that handle operational work automatically; and build custom workflows tailored to how they practice.
Henry Schein One, the global leader in dental technology, today announced support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open layer inside Dentrix Ascend that enables ambitious practices, DSOs, and developers to query their data, run AI agents, and build custom workflows, all within the platform they already use.
The Platform Dental AI Runs On
Henry Schein One supports more than 100,000 global locations, including approximately 90% of the top DSOs. The company’s technology processes over 120 million claims annually, supports more than 191 million eligibility checks, and has facilitated more than 22 million completed digital forms. That depth of structured clinical and operational data is what makes these agents effective from day one.
“We built the agents that do the work,” said Brian Weatherly, Chief Executive Officer, Henry Schein One. “The build layer is there for practices and partners who want to go further, but most customers will see results immediately—without writing a single line of code.”
"The combination of embedded capabilities and deeper insights gives us greater flexibility in how we take action,” said Justin Carroll, Chief Financial Officer at MB2.
Ask. Orchestrate. Build.
Dentrix Ascend’s MCP layer works across three tiers:
Ask
Any team member can query clinical, operational, and financial data in plain language—no training required. For example, “Who has unverified insurance this week?” gets an answer in seconds. An Ask preview is now available for Dentrix Ascend practices.
Orchestrate
Pre-built agents are running live today, handling the operational work that doesn’t require a person—including Eligibility Pro for real-time insurance verification, Image Verify for documentation quality, claims reconciliation, recall gap management, and automated patient follow-up.
The MCP-based orchestration layer allows ambitious practices to automate and coordinate workflows across the entire practice and DSOs to connect and coordinate agents across their organizations. The orchestration layer will be available to select customers after THRIVELIVE®, with broader availability coming this year.
Build
The full MCP build layer is the next phase of the platform. Ambitious practices and DSOs will be able to configure custom workflows and dashboards and build agents tuned to their care model.
Availability
Henry Schein One will showcase these capabilities at THRIVELIVE, Henry Schein’s premier annual dental education event, where attendees will have hands-on access in a live sandbox environment. A dedicated session will also be featured at the Dykema DSO Executive Event. To learn more and see a demo, join us at booth #300 at THRIVELIVE.

Henry Schein One Unveils the Next Era of Dentrix Ascend for DSOs and Growth-Focused PracticesMarch 10, 2026 6:30 AM
Business Wire
New Packages Accelerate Revenue Through an Integrated, Agentic Platform
Henry Schein One, the market leader in dental practice management systems, today unveiled the next era of Dentrix Ascend—introducing three new packages built on a fully integrated, agentic platform architecture designed to help practices and Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) increase revenue and accelerate growth.
The new offering strengthens Dentrix Ascend’s position as the platform of choice for modern dental organizations while advancing Henry Schein One’s strategy to unify practice management, clinical workflows, imaging, and revenue cycle management within a single intelligent platform.
Momentum behind Dentrix Ascend continues to accelerate, signaling a broader industry shift away from legacy practice management systems toward modern cloud platforms. Today, Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend serve more than 48,000 practices in the U.S. and 90 percent of the top 50 DSOs, supporting roughly 100 million claims annually.
Built on Integrated Innovation
These new packages bring innovative technology directly into the operational workflows of dental practices.
Key innovations designed to drive clean claims and increase revenue include:
Digital Forms uses AI to capture insurance data from photos of a patient’s driver’s license, insurance card, and credit card—making record entry faster and more accurate for practice teams (22 million forms completed in 2025).
Eligibility Pro retrieves real-time benefits from multiple sources, including insurance portals, and automatically loads coverage details into the patient record—ensuring teams have accurate information before the appointment begins (191 million eligibility checks completed in 2025).
Image Verify is an AI quality assessment agent that evaluates clinical images at the moment of capture—helping prevent common causes of claim denials while reinforcing clinical standards through an intuitive star rating system.
Voice Notes, an AI agent built with AWS, converts chairside conversations into structured clinical records using generative AI to transcribe and summarize in real time—reducing administrative burden and eliminating after-hours note-taking.
These innovations integrate securely with technologies used across the practice. Henry Schein One’s network of more than 250 partners and 700+ API endpoints extends the platform while maintaining architectural integrity.
Automation coordinates entire systems—not just individual tasks.
“When intelligence, documentation, imaging, and reimbursement are natively connected inside the core platform—supported by agentic AI working in the background—clean claims and strong outcomes become repeatable,” said Dr. Ryan Hungate, Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer at Henry Schein One. “The next era of Dentrix Ascend reflects our commitment to building systems of action—not disconnected add-ons—that allow teams to focus on care, not corrections. That’s how performance scales.”
Three Options. One Direction.
Dentrix Ascend now offers three structured packages built on the same unified foundation. Each package allows organizations to adopt what they need today and expand seamlessly as they grow.
Ascend Essentials — Designed for new or smaller practices requiring core workflows and foundational analytics to power day-one operations. Essentials includes key workflows such as payments, claims processing, patient booking, and text and email messaging—combined with Image Verify and Voice Notes.
Ascend Pro — Built for established practices seeking greater automation and scalability. Pro includes everything in Essentials plus enhanced eligibility capabilities like Eligibility Pro checks and multi-location management.
Ascend Accelerate — Engineered for multi-location, data-driven organizations, Accelerate includes everything in Pro plus enterprise reporting, system-wide optimization, additional Eligibility Pro checks, and an expanded suite of AI capabilities.
Support and Implementation Built for Scale
The next era of Dentrix Ascend extends beyond technology.
Claire, Henry Schein One’s AI-powered support agent, provides 24/7 assistance, access to high-level specialists, and guided conversion and onboarding—helping practices and DSOs migrate with confidence and realize value quickly.
Growth-Minded Leaders See the Difference
“As we scale, complexity becomes expensive,” said Dr. Jaleh Pourhamidi of Today’s Dental Network. “With Dentrix Ascend, everything works together by design—imaging, documentation, claims, and payments in one system. Our teams spend less time fixing issues and more time focused on patients and performance.”
Availability
The next era of Dentrix Ascend is available immediately.

Henry Schein One Launches Image Verify, Another Transformative Step Towards Achieving the Cleanest Claims in the IndustryFebruary 19, 2026 6:30 AM
Business Wire
New Native, AI-Embedded Capability in Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend Helps Improve Image Quality Control at Capture
Henry Schein One, the market leader in dental practice management systems, today announced the launch of AI-driven Image Verify, the latest innovation in a rapid series of product advancements designed to deliver the cleanest claims experience in dentistry. Image Verify, natively embedded in Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend, represents another major step towards the company’s bold Clean Claims vision – a future where dental practices submit claims once and never have to touch them again.
As the market leader in dental cloud-based technology, Henry Schein One has accelerated development across its platform to systematically eliminate friction points that lead to claim delays, denials, and costly rework. From Forms and Eligibility Pro to Voice Notes and a completely redesigned Claims Manager, each innovation is designed to reduce errors prior to submission and optimize the payment process. By natively combining these solutions, revenue cycle management is evolving – leading to fewer resubmissions, less time contacting insurers, and enabling practices to receive payments more quickly while reducing administrative demands.
Image Verify is an AI-powered quality assessment tool built directly into the imaging work of Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend. It evaluates clinical images in real time at the moment of capture. By alerting teams to blur, misalignment, and incomplete coverage immediately, Image Verify helps prevent one of the most common and avoidable causes of claim denials.
Up to 20% of dental claims are initially denied, contributing to an average practice revenue loss of 9% each year. Missing or low-quality images remain among the leading causes of these denials. By automating image verification at the source, Henry Schein One is eliminating upstream issues and reducing preventable errors.
"Every year, the industry loses billions of dollars to preventable denials – from incomplete documentation to missing images to manual errors that require costly rework,” said Dr. Ryan Hungate, Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer at Henry Schein One. “Image Verify is an important advancement, and it’s part of a bigger mission. We’ve been reengineering the entire workflow inside Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend. Together, these innovations form a connected system to help eliminate errors before submission. That’s how we make clean claims possible – helping practices reduce rework, avoid time-consuming calls to insurers, and accelerate reimbursement.”
Image Verify automatically reviews diagnostic dental images – such as bitewings and panoramic radiographs – to ensure they are clear and high quality. Team members can immediately determine whether image quality is sufficient, eliminating the need to interrupt appointments for retakes and allowing clinicians to focus more fully on patient care.
The team at Great Lakes Dental Partners has adopted this new technology.
“As we continue to modernize our revenue cycle workflows, tools like Image Verify represent a meaningful step forward,” said Khuzaan Screwvalla, Vice President of IT at Great Lakes Dental Partners. “By improving image quality and documentation accuracy on the front end, all the while maintaining our single pane of glass ethos, we’re able to submit cleaner claims, strengthen the patient experience, and drive greater consistency across our practices. It’s a powerful foundation for scaling efficiently and confidently.”
Image Verify is among the latest Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend-native technologies designed to improve revenue cycle management. Additionally, Dentrix customers will receive access to the new Claims Manager this month, providing a centralized hub that streamlines claim review, improves visibility, and optimizes the overall claims management workflow.
For more details about Image Verify and Henry Schein One’s technology solutions for clean claims, visit www.henryscheinone.com. Henry Schein One Connects Align Technology’s iTero™ Scanners to Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Dentally, Advancing a More Connected Global Standard of CareFebruary 17, 2026 6:30 AM
Business Wire
New integration unifies diagnosis, treatment planning, and practice management
Henry Schein One today announced a direct data integration between Align Technology’s iTero™ intraoral scanners and its core practice management platforms—Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Dentally—creating a seamless connection between digital scanning, diagnosis, and daily operations for practices worldwide.
Developed in collaboration with Align Technology, the integration automatically imports iTero scans into patient records, eliminating manual uploads, duplicate workflows, and system switching. This integration with iTero scanners enables teams to move efficiently from scan to care within a single, connected environment and was achieved as a result of significant technology and resource investments.
“Today’s dental teams need technology that supports clinical confidence as much as operational efficiency,” said Dr. Ryan Hungate, Chief Clinical and Strategy Officer at Henry Schein One. “As a result of these technology investments, clinicians have immediate access to diagnostic insights inside their Dentrix, Ascend, and Dentally workflow—providing an opportunity to strengthen decision-making at scale.”
The integration simplifies daily operations, supports care coordination, and enables practices to spend more time with patients and less time managing technology. Through Dentally, these connected workflows extend to cloud-native practices across the U.K., Ireland, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand markets, supporting consistent digital dentistry worldwide.
The initial program for this integration was completed with Heartland Dental.
“Heartland Dental has partnered with Dentrix and iTero for years, making this next step a natural evolution. Together, we’re advancing technology that simplifies clinical workflows, strengthens insurance documentation, and gives our supported doctors and hygienists more time for what matters most—caring for patients and elevating its experience,” said Mark Greenstein, Executive Vice President, and Chief Growth Officer of Heartland Dental.
Align Technology is a global medical device company with industry-leading innovative products including the Invisalign® System, iTero™ intraoral scanners and digital services, and exocad™ CAD/CAM software. Over the past 28 years, Align has helped doctors treat more than 22 million patients with the Invisalign System.
More than 75,000 locations across the United States, and over 600,000 dental professionals rely on Dentrix and Dentrix Ascend, creating one of the largest connected practice networks in dentistry. Combined with Dentally’s growing international footprint, Henry Schein One now supports one of the most extensive digital ecosystems in oral healthcare.
“Digital solutions are transforming how care is delivered within dental practices,” said Sreelakshmi Kolli, Executive Vice President, Chief Product and Digital Officer, Align Technology. “This integration enables clinicians to move from insight to action faster and deliver an enhanced patient experience.”
This integration seamlessly imports iTero scans directly into the patient chart—supporting efficient treatment planning workflows, stronger documentation, and scalable digital dentistry without added complexity.
The iTero scanner is a cutting-edge digital imaging system that transforms the way dental professionals capture and visualize oral anatomy. Designed for speed, accuracy, and patient comfort, iTero scanners produce high-resolution 3D scans in seconds supporting enhanced digital orthodontic and restorative workflows to help improve patient outcomes and practice efficiencies. Seamlessly integrated with Invisalign® treatment planning, iTero technology enables clinicians to simulate outcomes, track progress, and deliver comprehensive personalized and restorative care with confidence.
iTero scanners join an expanding lineup of devices securely integrated with our open platform. The iTero–Dentrix–Dentrix Ascend–Dentally integration is now available to eligible customers in North America and select international markets, with additional regions planned, depending on regulatory clearance and local requirements.

A Legacy of Brighter Smiles: Celebrating 24 Years of the Give Kids A Smile ProgramFebruary 6, 2026 6:30 AM

The American Dental Association Foundation’s Give Kids A Smile Program Celebrates Milestone of Over 10 Million Children Reached with Essential Dental Services, in Partnership with Longtime Sponsors Henry Schein and Colgate-Palmolive
The American Dental Association Foundation (ADAF) is officially kicking off Give Kids A Smile® (GKAS) 2026 at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, marking 24 years of transforming children’s lives through this access-to-oral-health-care initiative. What began as a local grassroots movement in St. Louis, MO, has evolved into a national movement, having served more than 10.2 million underserved children since 2003. GKAS begins nationally in February, which is National Children’s Dental Health Month, and events will take place year-round. These essential oral health services are made possible thanks to the tens of thousands of dental professionals who volunteer their time and talent.

“Hosting the national kickoff for Give Kids A Smile is a historic moment for UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry and powerfully reinforces our mission to improve oral and overall health through compassionate, community-centered care,” said Raha K. Naderi, RDH, MEd, Director of Community Outreach at the School of Dentistry. “Give Kids A Smile is more than a one-day event; it is a springboard for lifelong oral health. Every child we serve leaves not only with a healthier smile but with a clear pathway to continued care.”
2026: A Year of Scale
Across the country, the 2026 GKAS program is mobilizing to meet a critical need:
325,000 Children: The estimated number of children receiving free oral health education, dental screenings, cleanings, and preventive and/or restorative services.
1,200 Events: A nationwide network of dental offices, medical and dental clinics, schools, and organizations hosting events.
23,000 Volunteers: Dentists and dental team members donating their time and expertise.
“Give Kids A Smile is a national public-private collaboration that ensures access to quality oral health care services for all children, and, given that dental disease is the #1 reason children are absent from school, GKAS truly improves a child's overall well-being on a daily basis,” said Dr. Rita Cammarata, Chair of the ADA Foundation. “We sincerely thank all of the volunteers and sponsors that support this initiative, which will help improve the lives of children for years to come.”
Powered by Partnerships
The scale of GKAS is made possible by the support of exclusive national sponsors who provide the resources necessary to deliver care.
Henry Schein: The Foundation of Care
As the exclusive professional product sponsor since the program’s inception, Henry Schein (Nasdaq: HSIC) has contributed over $20 million in products with its supplier partners. This year alone, Team Schein has prepared more than 2,600 dental kits to equip volunteers.
“Together, we will continue to champion a critical mission: expanding access to vital oral health care for all,” said Steven Kizy, Vice President and General Manager of Henry Schein’s U.S. Dental Group.
Henry Schein’s longstanding support of the GKAS program underscores the mission of Henry Schein Cares, the Company’s global corporate citizenship initiative. Through strategic partnerships and purpose-driven action, Henry Schein Cares seeks to drive positive, sustainable change worldwide across five core pillars: Catalyzing health care access; Advancing policies, solutions, and innovation; Relationship building for change; Empowering Team Schein; and Sustaining the planet.
In 2026, Henry Schein Cares celebrates 25 years of impact, reflecting a continued commitment to improving access to care, strengthening communities, and helping to create a healthier world. The Company’s long-standing collaboration with GKAS exemplifies this commitment and highlights the power of public-private partnerships in advancing oral health equity for children and underserved populations.
Colgate-Palmolive: Supporting Oral Health Education and Resources

The Company brings this purpose to life through Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program, which has reached approximately 2 billion children and their families globally since 1991 with oral health education, free dental screenings, and treatment referrals. Colgate-Palmolive also recently announced a new multi-year partnership with the WHO Foundation focused on scaling oral health education, driving policy to integrate oral health interventions into national health systems, and supporting awareness through strategic, global, and cross-sector engagement to underscore the importance of oral health.
“Colgate is proud to support Give Kids A Smile, as we work towards engaging more children and their families with critical oral health education and free dental screenings,” said Dawna Michelle Fields, Senior Director, Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures. “Together, we can create a world of bright smiles and even brighter futures.”
