Applied Materials and Alphabet-owned Google will collaborate to
develop technologies for augmented reality.
Chip and display maker Applied Materials and search and cloud
giant Google said Tuesday that they were looking to accelerate
development of "multiple generations of products, applications and
services" in AR.
The two companies are seeking to create new display systems for
the "next wave" of AR experiences.
Augmented reality displays add digital elements on top of the
real world.
They said the collaboration combined Applied Materials'
experience in materials engineering and Google's platforms and
services.
