The purpose of this $550 million action is to prevent dilution. Assuming it works, this  reduces outstanding shares. It seems to be a type of buyback program where they're borrowing to purchase back shares, then repaying at a sell price where they've made money, or broken even, while reducing outstanding shares. Conceivably, if market conditions stay strong and BTC continues to rise, they could double their money, or even break even, payback loan, having reduced total shares by 15%. The higher the market share price goes, the quicker they payback loan and then repeat process. Each time reducing TS and increasing value per share.


This is a creative way to reduce share total without using cash to buyback shares and also without resorting to the deaded reverse split. It's creative anti-dilution.


This is voluntary, not mandatory. It's borrowing (using other people's money, ie. Investors,) to do buyback, and then repaying at will when market condions are right.
