                         Cardpoint plc ("the Company")

                             Director Shareholding

The Company has been informed that Mr Peter Smyth, the Non-Executive Chairman of
the Company, has today acquired 30,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company
("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 32p per Ordinary Share. Following this
transaction, Mr Smyth's beneficial interest in the Ordinary Share capital of the
Company has increased to 56,666 Ordinary Shares representing 0.31 per cent. of
the issued Ordinary Share capital.

In addition, Mr Smyth holds options over 100,000 Ordinary Shares which are
exercisable at 5p at any time from 25 February 2005 until 25 February 2012.
