Competition and Markets Authority Redetermination of Ofwat Price Determination

Publication by the Competition and Markets Authority of its Summary of its Final Re-determination of the Ofwat Price Determinations for Bristol Water plc and the other Disputing Companies

Ofwat published its final Determination for Bristol Water plc on 16 December 2019 setting out Ofwat's final Determination (the PR19 Final Determination) of the allowed revenues and service delivery targets for Bristol Water plc in the next five year regulatory period commencing on 1 April 2020 and ending on 31 March 2025 (the PR19 Price Control).

On 13 February 2020 Bristol Water asked Ofwat to refer its PR19 Final Determination to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for redetermination by the CMA (the Re-determination). Ofwat submitted its referral to the CMA on 19 March 2020, together with referrals of the final determinations of three other companies for re-determination (together with Bristol Water plc the Disputing Companies).

The CMA has today published its Summary of its final decision on the Re-determination in relation to all four Disputing Companies, including Bristol Water plc.

Bristol Water plc is reviewing the Summary and awaits the full Re-determination for Bristol Water plc which will be published in due course in accordance with section 15 of the Water Industry Act 1991. However, the Company is pleased to be reaching the conclusion of the referral and is grateful for the extensive efforts by all involved in this process.
