BlackRock New Energy Investment Trust plc (in members' voluntary liquidation)

Further to the proposals for the reconstruction and winding up of the Company
contained in the circular dated 19 December 2013, the aggregate value of the
total net assets of the Company (after deduction of the Liquidation Fund) is
£107.08 million, equating to 45.568 pence per share with A Rights.

The amount payable to Subscription Shareholders is 0.25 pence per Subscription
Share.

Cheques are expected to be dispatched and CREST payments made to Ordinary and
Subscription Shareholders in the week commencing 17 February 2014.
