Any tips for a new commodities trader?

I am new to commodity investing and would like to dip my toes into it.

I've been investing for a few years, and am fascinated with macroeconomics, and understanding how the world works in general, and how all the moving parts are intertwined.

I've read books such as "Reminiscences of a Stock operator" and thought Lefevre's 30,000 foot approach to predicting certain commodities will rise based on world events was really interesting.

So I wanted to ask, as a humble beginner:

What does your weekly / monthly commodity investing routine look like?

Are there certain news sources or aggregators that are good to glance over, that help filter out the "noise", and make it easier to make informed decisions?

For a US-based investor, are ETF's on the NYSE the best way to invest in commodities such as Copper, Coffee, Wheat, etc? How do you find the best investment vehicle for each commodity?

Many thanks in advance for any advice / tips.

Anyone watching or in on this? Seems like copper demand will be going up in the short to mid term.

(“Nevada Copper” or the “Company”) provides a project update for the
underground mine at its Pumpkin Hollow project (the “Underground
Project”).

Performance Highlights

First Stopes to Be Mined

The first stope will be mined in the East South Alphabets zone this week.

$The Alphabets zone is expected to carry copper equivalent grade of
approximately 2.5%.

Ventilation Expansion

The electrical upgrades have been completed and the fan bulkhead is in
the final stages of construction for installation of the remaining
underground ventilation fans.
Two additional underground ventilation fans, as previously announced,
are on schedule for installation in May, which should enable further
increases in underground development rates.

The surface ventilation fans remain on schedule for installation in the
third quarter of 2021.

Lateral Development
Lateral development in March increased 69% from February after the
previously announced electrical upgrades were completed.

Lateral development early in the first quarter 2021 was slower than
anticipated due to cautious progress through a water bearing dike.
Progress continues with penetration through the dike.

$Continuing to Increase Mill Throughput Rates

While we are still batch processing ore through the mill, we achieved a
weekly average of 4,700 tons per day (“tpd”) and maximum daily milling
throughput of 5,000 tpd during March.

Concentrate grade continues to be achieved that comply with off-take
specifications.

Concentrate grade has continued to rise, with an average grade of 26%
achieved in March compared to 24% during January and February.

The Company is on schedule to reach steady-state production of
approximately 5,000 tpd in the third quarter of 2021.

“We are pleased with the progress achieved in Q1 despite the challenges
with lateral development and we look forward to the imminent blasting
of our first high grade stopes,” stated Mike Ciricillo, Chief Executive
Officer of Nevada Copper.

“As well as advancing our stope development, we look forward to further
increases in underground development rates as we move closer to steady-
state production in Q3 this year.”

Local mines endure despite low copper prices

The price of copper has been in a steady decline since 2011, due primarily to a decreased demand from China. There are signs that this trend may be experiencing a slight recovery. The Chinese economy has begun to improve, and demand continues to outpace copper production. Analysts are cautious, but optimistic for the copper price forecast. The copper price closing on Sept 13th was $2.10, up slightly from the start of the month, but it still hovers near a six-year low.

Copper has been an important factor in humanity’s development. The metal is soft and easy to shape, though it is too soft to be useful to make tools. The discovery five millennia ago that combining copper with tin will create bronze, a much sturdier metal, launched the bronze age. Copper was the first strategic metal, and it became one of the first global trade goods.

The Gold Rush colonized California and Silver was the founding drive behind migration to Nevada, but for Arizona that building block was Copper. Many early Arizona towns were built by companies staking copper mining claims like Phelps Dodge. Places like Bisbee, Superior, Miami and Jerome exist only because of copper mining.

Arizona has been the largest producer of copper in America since the early 1900’s, producing almost 2/3 of the copper produced in the US. According to the Arizona Mining Association, the combined direct and indirect impact of copper mining was worth up to $34.2 Billion in the U.S. economy and 12.1 billion in Arizona. Copper is, in fact, one of the “Five C’s of Arizona”: Copper, Citrus, Cotton, Climate and Cattle.

In present day we use copper wiring and plumbing in our houses, there is copper in many parts of our cars, and copper is essential to linking our homes and businesses together via telecommunications. Copper’s high conductivity and malleability make it vital to today’s electricity driven world.
