Gold prices have more than doubled since Haber became ASPT. Why can"t they make a deal?

Has anyone heard anything from anybody about Aladdin and if they’re still trying to get funding or work out some deal?

If I understand your question, you are under the impression that there is a market maker for this stock. I am sure there is not. I had a conversation the other day with a guy from Schwab about thinly traded stocks like this, and basically any transaction is a matching of a buyer and a seller. That sounded fair enough, but then I asked why when I submitted a buy at a price higher than the posted bid I did not see my price become the new bid. He laughed and gave an explanation, which I didn't really understand. I think the bottom line is that nobody is paying attention to stocks like this, and things happen rather haphazardly.

I heard that trading regular companies with no commission requires having a cash balance in your account in the very big amount, like $200,000 or more. To trade this company requires becoming a special type of trader... Google it.

Do you know how one can become that type of trader?

When the old aladdintalk web site disappeared I thought that was the end. This website has recent links to news stories, but most of the permanent links are broken. I thought of sending a message to the email address, but decided it was too sad. As to buying up all the shares, I don't see how to do it myself. First or course, my broker won't let me buy it. But even if it did, if you allow partial fills of your order you risk getting filled for 10 shares and then paying $7 commission. And if you don't allow partial fills then you'll never get anything. I still wonder what the mechanics are for the trades we are seeing.

I heard a story where there was a company in similar straits,
to what we have here, and after many years all investors
came to the same conclusion that "it's over" for the company,
never to achieve success. Yes, except one person that knew that
the folks running the "dead" company were still trying to put together
arrangements to make the company successful. So here this person
accumulated over the many years near-zero (0.0001) shares.
Finally the company announced positive progress after many many
years of silence. The share price shot up and this person sold all
of his shares and got a million dollars. While I'm not collecting the
near-zero shares here, it seems that those running this company
would have notified us shareholders if they permanently suspended
any and all efforts to sell our gold extraction or that other process.

Anyone still following this? I see that trades are still occurring.

Perhaps you hear the rumor... A man collected ten million (10,000,000) shares for $1,000 in a company that seemed worthless, at a price of $0.0001 per share. Then years later this company became tradable and the stock went to $0.10 (ten cents) and the person sold and obtained a million dollars. My view is that $1,000 does not really have much buying potential as folks can spend this on lottery tickets and obtain zero in return. The cheapest new car is $15,000.

If you are successful obtaining ten million ASPTs shares for $1,000 it might cost you paying the broker $500 or more.

I thought that this had stopped trading, but see below. ... Never mind, I tried to enter an order on Etrade and was denied. "Opening transactions in Pink No Information, Grey Market and Expert Market securities are not permitted due to the inherent risk associated with these products." I guess nothing has changed, so I'll ask the same question I asked before, which is who is on the buy end of these transactions, and how are they able to do it?

I'm guessing that these are situations where a brokerage is buying their own clients' shares for a nominal price so that they can take the tax loss. This is a standard thing when a stock is considered worthless.

Why would anyone want to trade this worthless POS anyway.
No news, no announcements, no responses from leadership, this unfortunately is a dead issue.
Very sad, 30 years and they can't commercialize their so called technology.

It seems that the guy who said not to worry was wrong, no trades since the rule change.

I tried to submit buy orders on Etrade and Schwab and both were rejected.

Etrade said: "Opening transactions in Pink No Information, Grey Market and Expert Market securities are not permitted due to the inherent risk associated with these products."

Schwab said: "Your order cannot be accepted. This security ASPT is accepting closing transactions only."

I wonder how you can sell if no one can buy.

Tim Sykes Says You Shouldn’t Worry About the SEC’s New OTC Pink Rules

I don't know who Tim Sykes is, and there is no date on this article, but he says don't worry. It's interesting that only Etrade is mentioned. Maybe the SEC rule isn't such a big deal, and Etrade is taking things farther than required.

I got a reminder email from Etrade about the coming changes, pasted below. ASPT is in the category "Pink No Information." It's ambiguous what is required of all broker-dealers, and what is specific to Etrade. Basically, they say you will be able to sell, but not to buy. But if no one can buy then who can you sell to?

New regulations will affect your ability to buy and sell “Pink No Information,” “Grey Market,” and “Expert Market” Over-the-Counter (OTC) securities, including at E*TRADE.

On September 28, 2021, new amendments to Rule 15c2-11 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 take effect that will impact the market for certain OTC securities classified as Pink No Information, Grey Market, and Expert Market OTC securities (collectively, “Impacted OTC Securities”). These rule changes prohibit broker-dealers, like E*TRADE, from publishing bid/ask quotations of companies that fail to publicly report and keep current financial and other company information. The amendments also restrict the ability of retail investors to open new positions in Impacted OTC Securities.

What these rule changes mean for you

After Friday, August 27, 2021, E*TRADE customers will no longer be able to buy Impacted OTC Securities through E*TRADE. It's easy to guess why people are selling, but the buying is mysterious. I'm not quite clear about what is coming up with regard to the ability to trade this stock. My brokerage said it would end, but is that everywhere, or just on some brokerages? Of course, if one still believes in this company then you still own it whether it is tradeable or not. I'm just glad I stopped playing around with the low limit buys and high limit sells.

I wrote to Bob Lembo about the expiration date of Sept 30th, below is his response.

the new rules will push non compliant pink sheet stocks onto the grey market. We are already on the grey market.

I doubt there is a BOD anymore. It may be just Al and Bob. I wouldn't waste a dime on legal action. The best course of action is probably just to forget we own this and move on.

I don't know if this company has a Board of Directors, but if so then we need to identify these persons and suggest for them to do their legal requirements to serve and protect the company. It would be helpful if a frustrated investor knew a lawyer to ask for simply directions on any course of action we can take.

I think you hit the nail on the head. We don't know all the facts behind all the failures, but Al is the common denominator.

We will never know, if they never try. What is it, 20 years running and each of those years they could have looked into a possibility of what external help was available. Maybe that is and has always been the problem that kept this company as a failed company, those in charge (Al?) have egos too big to admit they have and are failing year after year.

I agree. Al needs to transfer a majority stake in this company to one of those start-up small companies created from highly educated folks, for example those from MIT.

I never doubted Al's commitment to "trying". Trying and succeeding are two different results. I just believe he's not the right person to make it happen. He's had too many failures for what should have been a huge success.

Many many years ago I suggested, in a public post, a reason why they can not stop trying.

It's not to save the general population of investors, but the friends & family folks of those that run this company, all based on those that ran this company in the beginning telling friends & family members to buy in this company as a sure thing with huge returns on their investments, both as direct cash to get shares and shares on the open market.

"they" don't give a shit about us investors, but their friends & family are constantly reminding "them" that because of you I have lost big monies and want it returned.

True, but when was the last time they were current? And, are they making any effort to become current? After more than 20 years, they still haven't been able to commercialize HGP or EMP. Right now, there is no reason to believe they ever will. So, this may be shareholders last chance to sell.

Any company can get current at any time, just no stock sales will be allowed while they’re not….
