PANAMA CITY, April 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bladex (NYSE: BLX, or "the Bank"), a Panama-based multinational bank originally established by the central banks of 23 Latin-American and Caribbean countries to promote foreign trade and economic integration in the Region, announced today its results for the First Quarter ("1Q26") ended March 31, 2026.
The consolidated financial information in this document has been prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS") as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board ("IASB").  Financial & Business HighlightsSolid profitability with Net Profits reaching $56.4 million in 1Q26 (+9% YoY), supported by continued balance sheet expansion and revenue generation. Earnings per share totaled $1.31 for 1Q26, reflecting the deduction of the AT1 coupon distribution from net profit attributable to common shareholders, in accordance with the applicable EPS calculation.Adjusted Annualized Return on Equity stood at 14.2% for 1Q26, reflecting disciplined balance sheet growth, solid fee generation, and continued funding optimization.  Including the effect of the AT1 issuance completed in late September 2025, the annualized Return on Equity ("ROE") reached 13.5% in 1Q26.Net Interest Income ("NII") resulted in $70.2 million in 1Q26 (+8% YoY) mostly driven by higher average business volumes. The consolidated financial information in this document has been prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS") as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board ("IASB").Financial & Business HighlightsSolid profitability, with Net Profits reaching $56.0 million in 4Q25 (+9% YoY) and $226.9 million in FY25 (+10% YoY), fostered by continued business growth, strengthened revenue generation and disciplined credit-risk and cost management.Adjusted Annualized Return on Equity ("ROE") stood at 14.2% for 4Q25 and 15.8% for FY25, reflecting the impact of interest rate cuts implemented by the FED since 2024. Election day is usually quite volatile in the banking sector. The market hates FUD.

Appreciate the information,..appears to be a nice monthly income play,

however, i'm going to pass on this one. I like the path BLX is on, more then what OXSQ is doing. However i'm waiting a bit, to see what happens on the evening of November 5. Still watching to add more BLX.

Elections often cause uncertainty, which at times is negative for markets.

Take a glance at OXSQ. I'm heavily vested and adding regularly, especially at the current price range.

Looks like nuclear stocks are trending,imo. LTBR looks interesting, lower market cap then others in the nuclear sector.

If they are able to maintain their dividend of .50 per quarter, coupled with maintaining or growing the EPS, BLX stands a good chance to enter the $35-$40 level, imo.

Im seeing PBR as an ADR, and dividends are irregular so I'll have to pass.

Plus not a fan of investing in the oil industry personally.

I actually just recently bought in, post last PBR dividend record date ( Aug.23 if i recall) so haven't received any dividends yet.

I'm anticipating no foreign taxes to be withheld, but will know for sure when PBR issues their next dividend payment. Will advise.

PBR is common stock, (not ADR), so i'm not 100% sure on the dividend foreign tax policy.

Among the recent news regarding PBR, i was particularly pleased with this news here on PBR entering the Brazilian fertilizer industry:

As a point of information, my dividends recieved on BLX had no foreign tax withheld.

Speaking of which over at ESPR we are all feeling the rejection, but yet the optimism still is there. i don't know sometimes.

What a strange day. Earnings up 35% YOY and the stock takes a bath.

Doubt that will hold, but a meager 10x earnings valuation puts this in the mid 50's range.
