Hi Kiwi.  I guess everyone no longer paying attention to that short report.  As far as SNOW, I haven’t purchased any recently but just have a small amount I purchased in Feb at around 165.

Hi RMB. I dont think there much to the Manatee short report other than the risks involved in scaling up the new production facility Nanotech in Chico .
Thats one issue I failed to research properly .
After more DD .....converting this facility to produce the larger AMPX batteries at scale, looks to be more involved and time consuming then I expected ....so I'm reducing my position in AMPX .

Kiwi thanks for posting the info about this Manatee report.  I have been wondering what has been dragging AMPX down.  Especially after cluing in some family members about the great promise of this stock.  

3. The Short-Seller Disconnect
The lack of active, mature mass-production lines at Chico is exactly what triggered the May 2026 Manatee short-seller report.
The report heavily criticized AMPX for relying on Nanotech Energy, alleging that the Chico facility is subscale, under-equipped for advanced proprietary silicon-anode mass production, and currently incapable of hitting the 2-gigawatt-hour global scale implied by corporate press releases.

Nanotech is still installing and testing the equipment to scale up the production of the larger AMPX batteries ...but its to early to conclude they aren't capable of hitting the goals outlined in the Co's press release .

Massive Defense Concentration: Amprius announced that its longstanding U.S. defense customers awarded approximately $500 million in new orders across multiple branches of the U.S. military. They also expanded their contract with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to $18.1 million.

The "April Collection" Proof Point: If a company's accounts receivable are fraudulent or fake, they never convert to cash. However, Amprius's Q1 2026 Investor Presentation explicitly stated that they collected over $6.5 million of accounts receivable in April 2026 alone—just weeks after the quarter closed.

This proved that the cash was real and was actively flowing into the company as the new quarter began.

Summary Verdict
While Manatee Research framed the mismatch as an accounting red flag, the reality points toward standard government contracting behavior rather than deception.
Amprius is dealing with a slow-paying federal client base, which creates a temporary operational cash flow crunch but is ultimately backed by hard U.S. military budget commitments.
