The Fed needs to have balls and raise rates above tge inflation rates. The political game they are playing is a set up for a recession. They know it too.
They can continue to give $10k to every illegal that crosses into the States, but that’s still not enough to soak up all this cash.
Rates should go up into Q1 2023 after the election is over.
After they crush the housing markets, they will bring rates back down. Knee jerk reaction after knee jerk.

I’m paying diwn all my credit card and auto debt and sitting in my cash and low long term fixed rate. Cash will be king.

I just don’t see how financial plays are going to survive the next 2 years. I’m sticking with oil and gas.

Knee jerk reaction. It might be into 2023, but they will kill the housing market. They have to protect the bond market. Who’s going to buy our printed money. I’m blown away some one is.

Until the Federal Reserve commits to whatever interest rate hike they're shooting for, their indecision has many companies anxiously waiting on the sidelines. Do they preserve their dividends, raise or cut. Their fate lies in the hands of the talking heads at the Fed.

Care to elaborate on the Fed comment?

Their dividend is quite healthy for the share price which is trading at a discount from imo the Feds indecisions. With an increasing NAV during our upsidedown economy. A long term hold is appealing

How do you see this play over the next 5-10years
I get pulled into these high yield Divi plays too along eith R/M shells with ultra low floats and activity. I think it’s a decease or an addiction.

The data-mining-software specialist is eschewing the traditional IPO route and going public through a direct listing, in which a company floats its existing shares on a public exchange and lets the market determine the price. Ahead of a debut planned for Sept. 30, Palantir’s bankers have told investors the shares could start trading around $10 apiece, according to people familiar with the matter. That equates to a market valuation of nearly $22 billion on a fully diluted basis.

I have held this one since December 2014. I wish I could tell you what I paid, but the ticker has changed at least once since then, most recently 8/1/2019, as you can see by the chart, and sometimes my broker cannot be bothered. Luckily I do not have it in a taxable account; that was such a pain this year I needed the extra 3 months.

I am not sure if this has also had a split or R/S over the last six years. I have an odd number of shares, so what does that mean? Pretty sure I did not have an order partially filled. Since the sale date is early January 2016, I am thinking they gave me more shares (in the way of a dividend); if that is the case, cool! Clearly I have not been paying much attention to this over the years; I forget which newsletter was touting it. It was sold as a way to get in early on IPO's.

Not much chatter about this company going on.
I like the looks of it but I got in just before the peak, after most of the big spurt.
It caught my eye recently because of Coursera, it's attitude toward investing and its slant towards learning but then of course Palantir made for a big movement and I was not paying enough attention to this stock specifically. Then FOMO got me !
I only have a small foot in the door so far.


Trying to discover more about this business.

I know that at June 30, 2020, SuRo Capital held positions in 24 portfolio companies, what I don't know is how much each holding contributes to their current value, or makes up of their portfolio. This is what I have pieced together with a little searching.
Does anyone know where I could easily discover the remaining percentages or at least some orders of magnitude ? Cheers.
