RGC Resources Inc (RGCO)

@timothy_smith, are you still long this? I haven't sold a share and am thrilled with the 3:2 split and today's 15% jump. With EGAS and DGAS being bought out, this has to be on the radar, as I feel it is a much stronger company than either of the other two. All this buying in the last hour is an eye opener.

Big volume tick up Friday. Wondered when someone would discover us.

RGCO had a nice earnings report. Too bad it hit on a down day, but things looked good to me.

Agreed. Even if RGCO doesn't get a bid, it is very possible that just the M&A will boost stock valuations accordingly. This is a set it and forget it stock, and I reinvest dividends so it will only grow.

More then likely. M & A is coming this year for the industry.

Yes, but STR was taken over by D, I think it will only be time for this little company to get an offer, but, that's just my hunch.

It's been incredibly warm this year absent the mega storm that hit the NE. Houston weather right now is dreamesque.

Now if only it would get cold again. This 70 degree weather just sucks from the store owners to nat gas utilities.

The value proposition here is strong I would agree. Happy thanksgiving y'all.

RGCO had lower sales, but was profitable. Company is going the right way. If it ever goes back below $20, I'll more than double my position.

Pretty big difference between companies so far as business and size. I've been watching it for a year or two not much going on it seems.

How does RGCO compare to...
.. West Texas Resources,WTXR. Apparently they have appointed Gordon Johnson, CEO of Bayside Corp. (( formally Bayside Petroleum,BYSD )).. to their BOD's.. Looks like a possible JV,RM, or other in the works..

Totally agree. Very overlooked, and I think undervalued.

A lot of consolidation coming and this company has a good portfolio. It all depends on how they manage in the current climate, specifically cash flow and debt service.

What are the odds that another company may buy RGCO? If PNY can get a nice premium, this little company would only be pocket change I would think?

RGC Resources, Inc. (Resources) is a holding company for Roanoke Gas Company (Roanoke Gas) and its subsidiaries include Roanoke Gas, Diversified Energy Company and RGC Ventures of Virginia, Inc. The principal service of Roanoke Gas is the distribution and sale of natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers within its service territory in Roanoke, Virginia and the surrounding localities.
