the safe and optimal use of a DefenseTech laser system earlier
purchased by the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate
Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF).
Fonon Technologies and Laser Photonics conducted a two-part
training on the effective use of the DefenseTech MRLS Portable
Finishing Laser 1010 (DTMF-1010) for a group of shipyard personnel
at PHNSY & IMF. The session consisted of safety training and
hands-on practice with the ultra-compact, portable pulsed fiber
laser system designed for naval applications such as small-scale
de-oxidation, rust control, top-layer coating removal and
micro-surface polishing.
