Time to look at BWLD puts again. The sports and winter season is tapering off along with their revenues for this over-bought stock.

Wow... saw this drop from a mile away. This POS is tanking as it should.

I'm seeing excess with spending for BWLD self-promotion in their news. This is a spendy strategy designed by bros... not MBA's. Too much overhead and competition with their brick'n'mortars. Looking at puts around $130 for after football season and during the winter sports doldrums.

This board should be popping with activity. Lot's of money to be made betting against this company. Unsustainable highs with nothing but bad news on the finance feeds.

Short-Short-Short

Called this. Anyone else shorting this ridiculously overbought POS with horrible food and service? No brainer easy money.

Oh my gosh this company is public? I went to a BWLD tonight which was utterly dead for an over-staffed summer Friday night and quickly learned why. I paid the equivalent of a 6 pack for one "tall" version of my favorite beer and literally had the worst $12 burger I've ever had in my city. It was a frozen factory made lowest possible grade beef patty cooked so well it was a thin black hockey puck. A Burger King Whopper was superior at 1/4 the price. My friend's wings were scrawny like their chickens wandered in the desert for 2 weeks before plating. And this wasn't a one-off for that location. When I asked my waitress and the manager, "WTF?", they explained that it was corporate policy to incinerate their company supplied 65% crappy beef and confided that their burgers were in fact awful.

It was like the movie, "The Big Short" where this tiny bit of "research" made it abundantly clear that this was a terrible product and the people driving it were greedy and short sighted. It reminded me of the days when CompUSA and Circuit City flooded their shelves with the cheapest Chinese crap they could procure to grab every last penny in a death spiral.

People get so caught up in making a trade that they forget they're also investing in a company. With this in mind, I have absolutely no doubts that this board is planning to quickly milk this company, dump an empty shell and run with their earnings. I'm not even bothering to look at their chart, news or major players. Results tell everything and it only took one visit to realize that they're propping up their earnings by offering premium pricing for the lowest (technically not even passing) passable quality and their customers have already stopped coming as a result.

$170 pps?! I hate betting on companies to fail but not when they do it to themselves and their investors. Gawd I can't wait to begin shorting this stock into oblivion first thing Monday morning. That's my play and while this post is just a quick hit'n'run... take it as advice and a warning from someone who looks for diamonds in the rough. This is the biggest turd to hit my radar in a decade. I've been looking for my next big play and I'm going to earn 1000x what I invested in that horrible burger.

Bdubs on CNBC this morning. Looks like they have been killing it with Super Bowl and look to continue to during final four march madness.

Whew! Glad I had the stones to keep averaging down. Very nice come back.

I am trying to figure out how China's issues and the geopolitical tensions of the world have any bearing on BWLD and the recent PPS shakedown. Minus the overall fears of investors, this company should not be affected by these things.

I agree, the food is good and the atmosphere is great for us guys and sport girls. BWLD is not a short term stock, but I do believe they will have a better 4Q setting up for a big turn around by the Superbowl.

BWLD consolidating now and actually is holding up well in spite of the bad press.

Even though the 3Q was significantly down, Drive by their restaurants in the evening and they are always packed with people. This stock is still in good shape. Some entity is trying to short this stock right now. That is why they are continuing to get bad press. Seeking Alpha is being paid by someone to write their diatribe. This stock made it's correction last week. We go up from here.

•Total revenue increased 16.5% to $426.4 million

•Company-owned restaurant sales increased 17.1% to $401.9 million

•Same-store sales increased 4.2% at company-owned restaurants and 2.5% at franchised restaurants

•Net earnings decreased 9.3% to $21.5 million from $23.7 million, and earnings per diluted share decreased 9.9% to $1.12 from $1.25


Sally Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, Solid sales performance in the second quarter was offset by a challenging cost environment. Our second quarter same-store sales were 4.2% at company-owned restaurants and 2.5% at franchised locations. This spring we created World of Sports, which highlighted the playoffs, women's World Cup, and unique sports from around the globe to help drive sales over our strong same-store sales last year. We also launched B-Dubs® Fast Break, a system-wide lunch program, and supported the campaign with national and local advertising.

Ms. Smith continued, We earned $1.12 per diluted share in the second quarter, a decline from 2014 primarily from increased food and labor costs. The price per pound for traditional chicken wings was 26% higher than the prior year. Labor as a percentage of sales increased due to higher wage rates and benefits costs and the addition of Guest Experience Captains at all company-owned restaurants that was completed in fourth quarter last year.

Total revenue increased 16.5% to $426.4 million in the second quarter compared to $366.0 million in the second quarter of 2014. Company-owned restaurant sales for the quarter increased 17.1% over the same period in 2014, to $401.9 million, driven by a same-store sales increase at company-owned Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants of 4.2% and 64 additional Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants at the end of the second quarter of 2015. Franchise royalties and fees increased 7.3% to $24.5 million for the quarter versus $22.9 million in the second quarter of 2014. This increase is attributed to a same-store sales increase at franchised Buffalo Wild Wings locations of 2.5% and 8 additional franchised Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants at the end of the period versus a year ago.

Average weekly sales for company-owned Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants were $61,960 for the second quarter of 2015 compared to $59,403 for the same quarter last year, a 4.3% increase. Franchised Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in the United States averaged $63,904 for the period versus $61,845 in the second quarter a year ago, a 3.3% increase.

For the second quarter, net earnings decreased 9.3% to $21.5 million versus $23.7 million in the second quarter of 2014. Earnings per diluted share were $1.12, as compared to second quarter 2014 earnings per diluted share of $1.25.

MINNEAPOLIS, April 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. (BWLD) (Nasdaq:BWLD) announced today financial results for the first quarter ended March 29, 2015. Highlights for the first quarter versus the same period a year ago were:
• Total revenue increased 19.8% to $440.6 million
• Company-owned restaurant sales grew 20.3% to $415.0 million
• Same-store sales increased 7.0% at company-owned restaurants and 6.0% at franchised restaurants
• Net earnings increased 2.6% to $29.1 million from $28.3 million, and earnings per diluted share increased 1.7% to $1.52 from $1.49

Sally Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We're pleased with our first quarter same-store sales of 7.0% at company-owned restaurants and 6.0% at franchised locations. Sales were exceptionally strong during the college football bowl games as well as the NFL playoffs. Buffalo Wild Wings really came alive during March Madness® and we launched a new advertising campaign with unique commercials for each round of the tournament."

Ms. Smith continued, "Our sales growth leveraged operating, occupancy, and general and administrative costs. As anticipated, cost of sales and labor as a percentage of restaurant sales were higher than the prior year which tempered our net earnings growth. The price per pound for traditional chicken wings increased 41% versus the prior year's unusually low price. We achieved net earnings growth of 2.6% and earnings per diluted share was $1.52 in the first quarter."

Total revenue increased 19.8% to $440.6 million in the first quarter compared to $367.9 million in the first quarter of 2014. Company-owned restaurant sales for the quarter increased 20.3% over the same period in 2014, to $415.0 million, driven by a same-store sales increase at company-owned Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants of 7.0% and 53 additional Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants at the end of first quarter of 2015. Franchise royalties and fees increased 11.8% to $25.6 million for the quarter versus $22.9 million in the first quarter of 2014. This increase is attributed to a same-store sales increase at franchised Buffalo Wild Wings locations of 6.0% and 18 additional franchised Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants at the end of the period versus a year ago.

Average weekly sales for company-owned Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants were $64,851 for the first quarter of 2015 compared to $60,966 for the same quarter last year, a 6.4% increase. Franchised Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in the United States averaged $67,075 for the period versus $63,852 in the first quarter a year ago, a 5.0% increase.

For the first quarter, net earnings increased 2.6% to $29.1 million versus $28.3 million in the first quarter of 2014. Earnings per diluted share were $1.52, as compared to first quarter 2014 earnings per diluted share of $1.49.

2015 Outlook

Ms. Smith remarked, "Same-store sales increased 4.2% at company-owned restaurants and 1.8% at franchised locations for the first four weeks of the second quarter of 2015 compared to 5.7% and 4.4%, respectively, for the same period last year. I eat at this place twice a week. It is delicious! My girlfriend and i have been fans of chipotle for a while and rusty taco has us skipping the burritos for the $2.50 specialty street tacos. There are 15 different tacos and the nachos and the queso is unbelievable i love the queso flavor and taco style! It definitely has me thinking this could take off very delicious. The place also displays local artist paintings for sale on the walls pretty sweet .

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. (BWLD) (Nasdaq:BWLD) announced today financial results for the third quarter ended September 28, 2014. Highlights for the third quarter versus the same period a year ago were:
• Total revenue increased 18.3% to $373.5 million
• Company-owned restaurant sales grew 18.5% to $350.5 million
• Same-store sales increased 6.0% at company-owned restaurants and 5.7% at franchised restaurants
• Net earnings increased 21.7% to $21.8 million from $17.9 million, and earnings per diluted share increased 20.0% to $1.14 from $0.95
