Peter Long joins Board of Lex Service PLC

Lex Service PLC, the motoring and business solutions group, announces the
appointment of Peter Long, Chief Executive of First Choice Holidays plc, as
non-executive director of the company with effect from 21 February 2001.

Peter Long is also Chairman of Air 2000, the UK's fourth largest charter
airline.

Before joining First Choice in October 1996, Peter Long was Chief Executive of
Iberotravel, the UK based travel company which operated under three main brand
names: Sunworld, Neilson and Skybargains. He set up Sunworld in March 1991 and
took the company to fifth place in the UK tour operator league table, carrying
over 700,000 passengers in 1994. Sunworld was later sold to The Thomas Cook
Group in June 1996.

Sir Trevor Chinn, Chairman of Lex Service PLC, said: "I am delighted to
welcome Peter to the Board. His extensive experience of building successful
companies with strong consumer brands is very relevant to Lex as we continue
to develop our two brands of Lex and RAC. He will make a valuable contribution
