Malpom Update

BiON (AIM: BION), an environmental engineering, wastewater treatment and renewable energy solutions company, gives notice that, on 22 July 2021, a fire occurred at the neighbouring palm oil mill to the Company's biogas power plant located in Malpom, Penang. The Company's plant has not been damaged, but the significant impact of the fire on the mill will prevent it from providing the Company's plant with the required feedstock to enable power generation. Consequently, the Company has been required to shut down operations at the plant until further notice.

The Company will provide a further update as appropriate in due course.
