The US currency surged up against the Chilean peso in New York afternoon trading on Tuesday. The dollar, which closed yesterday's New York session at 543.95 against the peso, soared to a 13-day high of 548.85 by about 1:05 pm ET. Presently, the pair is worth 548.45. The dollar has been in an upward channel against the Chilean currency for the past 8 days.
