Mexco Energy Corporation (NYSE American: MXC) announced today that its Board of Directors declared a regular annual cash dividend of $0.10 per common share. The dividend is payable June 4, 2024 to the stockholders of record at the close of business on May 21, 2024.
The Company’s Board of Directors also authorized the use of up to $1,000,000 to repurchase shares of the Company’s common stock, par value $0.50, for the treasury account. This authorization replaces the previously authorized $1,000,000 common stock repurchase program which had $414,964 remaining at the time it was replaced. During the year ended March 31, 2024, the Company repurchased 50,101 shares at an average price of $11.68 per share.

i rarely mis-call oil patch wonder floats! 18.00 high of day, folks on volume out of west egypt! Now a DOUBLE. Sure this is a musical chairs stock- but it has been played like this for over a decade now. Congrats to all who mined MXC this day. I mined mine. Musical chairs. MAYBE more tomorrow? I've been buying back into MXC after that terrific Q4 report late Friday (which sent the stock to the $12's AH). Looks like a great buy in the $9's as I don't think the market is appreciating just how impressive their Q4 results were. I've been following MXC for a long time, and this was their best quarter in years. Q4 revenues over $1M with earnings over .20/share. Best part is with oil & natural gas prices continuing to rise...their fiscal Q1 report in early August should be even stronger!

FWIW, i played MXC wayyyyy back (YEARS AGO) for a serious multibagger. It was just as tiny- but had just as tiny a float. So this dude showed up on some message board and said we're going to take this to the moon! I have rarely since seen anything like it. The volume came out of nowhere. Why? The tiny float. In hindsight, i don't think he gave a rat's arse about fundamentals. But in MXC he saw a TINY MICROSCOPIC FLOAT that if tied to a rapid strong crude rise would end up a multibagger for wee little MXC.----------I was there. I made that money then. This REALLY happened. I see the potential here now again. GLTA

Yep I agree. The crazies will keep chasing higher AH and early tomorrow. Then it probably has a violent reversal later tomorrow and closes sharply lower. The collapse from here is inevitable. No clue why traders love to chase these dangerous stocks. Try to make 10%...before it plunges 50% in minutes. Don't they know you can make money on stocks that DON'T have the catastrophic downside risk???

15:52 ET - Mexco Energy is on a wild ride this week despite no clear news driver, with some traders blaming small investors using the Robinhood trading app. The Texas oil company closed at $3.65 Tuesday and surged Wednesday to close at $8.10, a 122% one-day increase. Shares are off 16% today. Volumes were unusually high Wednesday at 56.4M shares, while average volume in the past 30 days, excluding Wednesday, is less than 47,000 shares per day, according to FactSet. "The retail herd just keeps rotating through low-float stocks." says Dennis Dick, a trader at Bright Trading. Robinhood users with Mexco shares jumped from 318 Tuesday to as many as 1,750 Wednesday, before falling back to 1,136 today, according to Robintrack, a website tracking Robinhood investors. Still a nice quarter of improvement. The depreciation, depletion, and amortization expense jumped back up to a more normal level after being unusually low in Q4. So a small Q1 profit vs. the nearly $300K loss last year. I really like the dramatic reduction in their debt load. Which was $5.5M a couple years ago, $2.5M last year, and now only $500K! Interest expense etc will continue to decline.

MXC has a couple of easy comps coming up, so the healthy year-over-year improvements should continue. They only got $2.25 per Mcf for their natural gas last quarter, so that should rebound to a higher price. MXC has the potential to post some big EPS in 2019 if oil prices stay in the $60's and $70's (and maybe higher) as the Permian bottleneck issues are eventually resolved.

I view the stock as quite attractive in the low $5's. Energy sector has been ice cold of late. So maybe MXC goes even lower. I'll gladly be accumulating. Because there's lots of positives and this stock has one tiny float. Only a matter of time imo before we see another crazy spike higher. Like up 50-100% in a DAY. Might take awhile, but I can wait.

MXC did put out a rare quarterly earnings PR on Friday. Thought they only released an earnings PR with the yearend numbers. So maybe a sign they're improving IR efforts. Liked the quote from the president-lots of opportunities on their 'substantial' inventory of development acreage. And great to hear that they've already spent more money in July to finish 5 wells than they spent during the entire Q1.

In addition to an indeterminate number of wells to be drilled by other operators on Mexco’s royalty interests, the Company currently expects to participate in the drilling and completion of approximately 50 horizontal wells at an estimated aggregate cost of approximately $1,300,000 for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019. The operators of these wells include Concho Resources, Inc., Marathon Oil Company, Mewbourne Oil Company, XTO Energy, Inc. and others.

During the first quarter of fiscal 2019, Mexco participated with various percentage interests in the drilling of the first 8 of these horizontal wells in the Delaware Basin located in the western portion of the Permian Basin in Eddy and Lea Counties, New Mexico with aggregate costs of approximately $142,000. Subsequently, in July 2018, Mexco expended an additional $192,600 for the completion of five of these wells.

The president of the Company, Tammy McComic, said, “We have excellent opportunities on our substantial inventory of development acreage in the Delaware Basin.”

MXC IS CURRENTLY PROFITABLE! Operating revenues in fiscal 2018 were $2,705,235, an increase of 7% when compared to fiscal 2017 operating revenues of $2,525,363.  This is the result of a 18% increase in oil prices and a 17% increase in gas prices partially offset by an 11% decrease in gas production.

The Company reported a profit of $264,461 for the quarter ending March 31, 2018, the Company’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2018, compared to a loss of $3,454 from the comparable quarter of fiscal 2017.  Operating revenues in the fourth quarter were $763,532 compared to $684,204 for the same quarter in fiscal 2017, an increase of 12%.  This is primarily the result of increased oil and natural gas prices and a decrease in depreciation, depletion and amortization

Mexco Energy Corporation ("Mexco") is participating as a working interest owner in a joint venture drilling four (4) vertical development wells to a depth of 11,000 feet on 160 acre spacing in the Dean, Wolfcamp, Cline and Atoka formations on 640 acres in Reagan County, Texas. Initial per day production rates from two of these wells respectively are 128 barrels of oil and 110,000 cubic feet of natural gas and 94 barrels of oil and 179,000 cubic feet of natural gas.
