It enables peer-to-peer electronic cash transactions without intermediaries like banks or governments, operating on a blockchain secured by Proof of Work mining and the SHA-256 cryptographic algorithm.
With a fixed supply cap of 21 million coins and programmatic halvings every four years that reduce miner rewards, Bitcoin is designed as a deflationary digital asset often called "digital gold." Its value stems from solving the double-spending problem without trusted intermediaries, creating the first truly scarce digital asset with censorship resistance and permissionless access that no government, corporation, or individual can control.
Bitcoin operates as a decentralized peer-to-peer network where transactions are recorded on a public ledger called the blockchain, distributed across thousands of computers globally. Transactions are grouped into blocks added approximately every 10 minutes through mining, where specialized computers compete to solve complex mathematical puzzles.
Bitcoin has achieved mainstream adoption through multiple vectors. The January 2024 SEC approval of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs opened Bitcoin investment to traditional finance participants, and corporations like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) are using Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset to protect against currency debasement, offering MSTR holders amplified exposure to Bitcoin.
The Bitcoin ecosystem continues to evolve with innovations like Ordinals, which emerged in January 2023 to enable NFT-like functionality directly on Bitcoin, and BRC-20 tokens, an experimental standard for creating fungible tokens using Ordinal inscriptions. BTCFi (Bitcoin Finance) represents emerging financial applications extending beyond Bitcoin's traditional role, with protocols like Babylon allowing Bitcoin holders to stake BTC to secure Proof of Stake chains.

The daily BTC nonsense will continue until BTC breaks out or goes to zero. I'm banking on a break out. The funny thing is all the ones saying it's going to zero own no crypto, never have and never had a central exchange account. My money and worth the risk. Too much happening around the world with crypto for it to suddenly go away. Change takes time. I remember many saying the Internet was a scam, as well as online shopping. The US stalling on the Clarity Act is not helping but it's the big picture over time and the ups and downs over time, not the daily nonsense from non investors.

Clarity is now down to only a 50-50 chance of passing by the August recess. 21 million BTC for the entire world and only 20 million in circulation. 1.33 million are in companies treasuries like Space X, Tesla, Saylor's company and many others. That leaves only 18.67 million available now for the entire world. BTC will move whenever it does. No one can time it. BTC goes up or down violently and no daily chart predicts anything. No one needs to see what has already happened. Show me any chart that shows where BTC will be on Labor Day. No chart can. BTC will run again just like every other dip in the last 16 years. Same nonsense over 16 years on every dip. Hold what you own and add the dips. Ignore the noise. It's all from people owning no crypto who want you to lose your money and rejoice every time BTC goes down. Know what you own. $500,000 to $1,000,000 BTC by 2035. That's still nine years from now. Digital currency will be the future and along with AI prices will easily be converted into crypto. It's a shame our government can't get their act together and open the flood gates and pass the Clarity Act.

Tom Lee told Anthony Scaramucci on Friday that timing Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) is a losing game, given nearly all of its annual gains come from a tiny handful of trading days. Why Timing Bitcoin Is Nearly Impossible To Get Right Lee said Bitcoin has delivered the best compounded annual return of any asset over the past 10 to 15 years, but that performance hides a brutal truth underneath it. Strip out the 10 best trading days each year, and an investor’s return flips to negative 27% annually instead. The same pattern holds in traditional markets. Lee said the S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY) has compounded at roughly 9% a year since 1929, but missing its 10 best days each year drops that return to negative territory, with those 10 days averaging a 2,100 basis point swing in performance. Over just the past three years, missing the S&P’s 10 best days cost investors more than 24 percentage points of return, meaning last year alone would have turned into a negative double-digit year for anyone who stepped out of the market even briefly. Crypto Sentiment Is Worse Than After The FTX Collapse Lee described current crypto sentiment as worse than the period following FTX’s implosion. Bitcoin’s RSI sits at an all-time low, Google search volume has dropped, and the fear and greed index reads more negative than it did during the FTX crisis. Now the negatives. Bitcoin seems to have broken major support and can drop steeply from here all the way to 30K as the first backstop. Inflation is real and the FED will have to deal with it. The SPX has a near perfect DIAMOND PATTERN of the extremely bearish kind. This will be either a mirage or real and we don't have to wait much longer to find out. In fact in my analysis any move higher from todays close should likely dismiss this pattern. A sideways to slow slide from here will finish the pattern perfectly. I personally can't remember the last time I saw such a nicely developed DIAMOND PATTERN. Like I stated it might be a mirage and disappear tomorrow. BITCOI the canary that is in the coal mine seems to be chocking. I do believe it BROKE. No resistance down till maybe 30K. that a long way. It might happen with the rest of the market crash or be early. Just an observation.
