NEW PATENT = GREAT NEWS PowerSafe Technology Announces Award of 5th US Patent Titled Low level Signal Detection by Semiconductor Avalanche Amplification

PARAMUS, NJ, Jun 10, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- PowerSafe Technology Corporation (PINKSHEETS: PSFT) announced that on May 14th its wholly owned subsidiary Amplification Technologies Inc. (ATI) (www.ampti.co) was awarded U.S. Patent # 8,441,032 titled "Low level Signal Detection by Semiconductor Avalanche Amplification."

Lockeed Martin was who the company signed contract with last year, i wonder if that was the company with the order, so little news so far apart.

PWSF.OB Making NASA and NIST Technology Available for the Masses

Powersafe Technology Corporation recently entered a merger agreement with Amplification Technologies, and although it may not be a household name, Amplification’s photodetectors and optical devices have been known to the industry since 2000. They have done work and received research grants from NASA, NIST and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and have attracted nine PhDs to their staff. All these things have occurred in 7 short years of operation, and now - in potentially the biggest step yet - the company plans to make their products available to private industry.

It is anticipated that, by late 2008 or early 2009, Powersafe will begin generating revenue from the sales of their products, and by the year 2011, the company expects to be profitable. They anticipate that the next five years will show them generating over $80 million in annual revenues, which will translate into $30 million in pretax net income. Amplification’s photodetection devices are not just run-of-the-mill equipment, but state-of-the-art technology that has attracted the interest of more than a few companies.

The secret to their success was the invention of an extremely sensitive photodetector technology that has significant performance and cost advantages over traditional devices, and is positioned as the next-generation, solid state technology for low-level light detection. This solid state technology allows the photodetectors to generate exceptionally low internal noise while maintaining very high sensitivity and amplification gain. These devices are small, rugged and portable, and show no negative effects of exposure to magnetic fields. In addition they are easy to manufacture and can be readily integrated with other electronic devices.

The current market for photodetectors has been estimated at around $250 million a year, with continued growth projections. The company believes that, when it enters the market, it will make an immediate impact with its superior products and grab a sizable market share while at the same time accelerating the growth of that market. Potential uses for these devices are endless, but a few examples are radiation detectors, environmental monitoring, medical diagnostics, drug development, telecommunications and defense. PWSF.OB Recently Executed a Merger Agreement with Amplification Technologies

In April, Powersafe Technology Corp. (PWSF.OB) entered into a merger agreement with Amplification Technologies, Inc., a semiconductor technology firm based in Valley Stream, NY.

Under the terms, Amplification will receive approximately 31,500,000 shares of Powersafe to be distributed to current Amplification shareholders. A portion of the shares will be held in reserve to use for options and the conversion of convertible preferred stock. Powersafe will acquire $700,000 of non-convertible preferred stock in the transaction. Jack Mayer, a controlling stockholder of Amplification, was appointed director and President of Powersafe as of March 31, 2008.

Amplification has raised $2 million in funding to execute the transaction, of which about $1,360,000 was placed as capital to Powersafe. An estimated $625,000 was utilized to purchase 100% of the issued and outstanding stock in Powersafe. Mayer and his wife acquired 27.2% of the issued and outstanding shares in Powersafe.

Powersafe in turn used $1,280,000 to purchase non-convertible Series C Preferred Stock issued by Amplification. About $730,000 of the funds were used by Amplification to redeem non-conservative preferred stock of Amplification that were held by Mayer. The Series C shares have a 2% monthly pay-in-kind dividend and are flagged to be retired as part of the merger.

Amplification’s science team has invented an acutely sensitive photodetector technology that has performance and cost advantages over current traditional systems. Amplification’s patented semiconductor technology allows the amplification of weak signals with very low noise. The platform is applicable to the detection of signals other than light and can be used in principle to create highly sensitive biological, radiological, electrical, and chemical sensors.

The merger is scheduled to close by the end of May 2008 once all the conditions of the merger agreement are fulfilled.

PWSF.OB is “One to Watch”

Powersafe Technology Corp. intends to manufacture and distribute multiple-outlet power boxes. The company owns the technology and patent for the device. The patent, entitled the “Power Outlet Box with Special Protection Logic,” was approved and granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on January 13, 1998, and was assigned U.S. Patent No. 5,708,554.

One of the principal goals of the device is to prevent the interruption of power to the main unit (such as a computer or medical device) because of a short circuit or other difficulty with one or more of the secondary units (which could be a plethora of devices). Additional benefits the technology offers includes selective fuse protection for secondary outlets, a more durable and reliable design, and more cost effective manufacturing process.
