Kobrea Exploration Corp. has reported the completion of its Phase 1 diamond drill program at the El Perdido porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum system in Mendoza, Argentina.
In the news release, they highlighted the successful drilling of 2,358 metres across six holes, the geological confirmation of a large hydrothermal porphyry system, their right to earn a 100% interest across seven regional projects, and technical strategies to address difficult drilling conditions.
Discussing the early success of the campaign, CEO James Hedalen commented, "This first-ever drill program at El Perdido has confirmed a large, mineralized porphyry system. The copper, gold and molybdenum grades intersected to date are consistent with the margins and upper levels of a porphyry system."
The company is now evaluating data to target the untested core of the system at depth during an upcoming Phase 2 drilling season.

Kobrea Exploration has completed a historic Phase One drill program at El Perdido, marking the first-ever drilling campaign undertaken on the Western Malargüe Copper Projects and only the third in the entire district's history.
After rapidly building out regional roads and an exploration camp, the company successfully executed the program with strong logistical and regulatory backing from the Government of Mendoza and the local community of Malargüe.
This collaborative success establishes a proven operational blueprint for Kobrea as it prepares for deeper drilling at El Perdido and initial testing across its large 733-square-kilometre regional land package in the upcoming exploration season.
CEO James Hedalen commented, "Alteration, veining and sulphide intensity increase with depth, pointing toward a potassic core below the levels reached this season. We look forward to drilling deeper into the core of this system in Phase 2 as well as initial drill tests of other targets in the portfolio."

Posted on behalf of Kobrea Exploration Corp. - (CSE: KBX | OTCQB: KBXFF | FSE: F3I) has completed its inaugural drill program at the El Perdido Project in Mendoza Province, Argentina — confirming the presence of a large-scale copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry system.
The 2026 Phase 1 campaign comprised six diamond drill holes totaling 2,358 metres. Drilling intersected widespread porphyry-style mineralization, quartz-stockwork veining, localized potassic alteration, and copper-bearing sulphide assemblages consistent with the upper to marginal portions of a porphyry system.
Key Takeaways
• First-ever drilling at El Perdido confirms a mineralized copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry system
• Alteration intensity, veining, and sulphide content increase with depth
• Geological evidence suggests a stronger potassic core remains untested below current drill depths
• Only a portion of the 2 km by 2 km target area has been drill tested
Importantly, three of the six holes encountered drilling challenges within a faulted zone and stopped short of target depths. Kobrea is sourcing alternative drill equipment and techniques to reach deeper levels in the next phase.
Management noted that mineralization encountered to date is consistent with the margins and upper levels of a porphyry system — strengthening the thesis that the higher-grade core lies at depth. Phase 2 drilling is expected to target this deeper potassic center.
El Perdido represents just one of seven projects covering 733 km² in the Western Malargüe Copper District, where multiple kilometre-scale porphyry targets have been defined. Notably, this was only the third drilling campaign ever conducted in the broader district.
With road access, infrastructure, and local government support established during Phase 1, Kobrea has positioned itself to systematically advance deeper drilling at El Perdido while preparing additional targets across its district-scale portfolio. The core remains untested.

Kobrea Exploration has announced the completion of its Phase One diamond drill program at the El Perdido project in Mendoza, Argentina, successfully confirming the presence of a large copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry system.
See here: https://www.newsfilecorp.com/release/298779
Highlights Include:
- Inaugural Drilling Progress: The company completed six diamond drill holes totaling 2,358 metres, marking the first-ever drilling campaign undertaken on the property.
- System Strengthens at Depth: Drilling intersected widespread porphyry-style mineralization, quartz-stockwork veining, and localized potassic alteration. Geological observations show that alteration and veining intensity increase with depth, suggesting the core of the system sits below the levels reached this season.
- Untested Exploration Upside: The inaugural campaign only tested a portion of the massive 2 kilometre by 2 kilometre target footprint. Because three holes stopped short due to a fault system and difficult drilling conditions, the core of the system remains entirely untested.
The company is currently sourcing alternative drilling equipment and techniques to overcome these shallow fault zones as it prepares for deeper drilling in the upcoming exploration season.

Posted on behalf of Kobrea Exploration Corp. - KBX.c; KBXFF In their latest operational update from earlier this spring, Kobrea Exploration confirmed that their initial drill program is rapidly advancing at the El Perdido porphyry copper-gold prospect in Mendoza, Argentina.
The company has successfully completed its first three diamond drill holes—totaling over 1,700 metres—and has shipped all core to the lab, with analytical results highly anticipated.
Key Takeaways
- Target Model Confirmed: While drill hole 4 was abandoned early at 200 metres due to a fault zone, it delivered a crucial piece of geological data. The hole successfully intersected a chalcocite enrichment zone directly beneath 128 metres of leached rock. This confirms the company's target model and builds strong confidence that this enriching layer is preserved across the broader porphyry system.
- New Drill Contractor: To capitalize on this momentum and maximize meterage before the winter season, Kobrea has engaged Major Drilling Argentina to finish the 2026 program.
- Aggressive Expansion: Drilling immediately commenced drill hole 5 to target the depth extensions of a strong mineralized zone discovered in the very first hole. Additionally, crews are already building a third drill pad to test the southwestern portion of the system.
With visual confirmation of the copper-bearing system already established and the first batch of assays pending, Kobrea is exceptionally well-positioned to deliver major catalysts as they qualify the El Perdido system.

Posted on behalf of Kobrea Exploration Corp. - Kobrea Exploration Corp. (KBX.c KBXFF) is advancing Phase 1 drilling at its El Perdido copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry in Mendoza Province, Argentina. As of early March, three drill holes totaling 1,739m have been completed, with core observations providing sufficient geological insight to expand the program. A fourth step-out hole has been initiated approximately 220m east of the original drill pad to follow up on mineralization and further refine the geological model, targeting strong pyrite-chalcopyrite-molybdenum stockwork veining within potassically altered quartz diorite porphyry first intersected in the initial hole. Posted on behalf of Kobrea Exploration Corp. – Positioned as an early mover in Argentina’s newly opened Mendoza province, Kobrea Exploration (KBX.C KBXFF) is applying a systematic, district-scale exploration strategy across a large, underexplored segment of the Andean copper belt.
Management’s thesis is straightforward: while Chile has historically dominated global copper production, the Argentine side of the same geological belt remains largely untested, presenting a rare opportunity to explore for large-scale porphyry systems in a first-mover setting.
