A8. Yes, each video would be transcoded to a BIRD video format on the fly. This way, you would not need to re-code the entire library of content to the BIRD format.

(I360) Q9. Should we be concerned about the lack of news on deal flow? Does it mean that no deals have been done?
A9. No and No. We are ‘growing up’ as a company and are no longer trumpeting individual deals like this because of client confidentiality and because it makes us seem a bit small in their eyes. Instead, we want to focus on doing large-scale infrastructure deals and announcing those.

A4. Yes, probably larger. IM also strongly emphasised that the minimum guarantees were just that, a very low baseline

A6. By IBC (Sept) at the latest, but quite possibly earlier than that.

A1. IM: EVS is an OEM deal and not the same as a PBB licencing deal. (So, I think we can conclude from this response, that it's not EVS).

A11. Really, really well. It’s very exciting. Apart from having a busy stand, you should see it as significant that we were one of only 4 companies in this entire market that Microsoft chose to invite onto their own stand. The other 3 were all $Bn companies. That speaks volumes for how well BIRD is being considered as part of the “patchwork quilt” that makes up the end-to-end delivery mechanism for video within the global ecosystem. IM then added emphasis on how well-positioned BIRD is specifically with AWS.

It's been on my radar since flotation when I lived in UK.

The man who developed this company and is still the main share holder and a genuine English genius created Lara Croft and Tomb Raider in the later 1990's.

He founded a company called Forbidden Technologies in 2000 which was later renamed Blackbird, here is an article I saved back in 2010 a little bit of history from where Blackbird came from and the main man and still the brains behind the company the major share holder Stephen Streater.

the professional grade platform built on top of this tech does for internet video what gmail did for traditional email.
