(EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international design, consulting,
engineering and management services company, has been selected by
the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to provide traffic
management services for the Regional Traffic Operations Program.
ARCADIS was chosen from among three finalists for the contract,
which has a potential value of $35
million over five years. The first three task orders valued
at around $3 million are currently
negotiated between GDOT and ARCADIS and work should start
shortly.
Under the program, GDOT aims to actively manage traffic flow
along important regional commuter corridors in the Atlanta area. ARCADIS services will include:
inventory and diagnostics of existing conditions as well as field
monitoring and reporting. In addition, ARCADIS will collect traffic
and travel time data and look into optimizing traffic management
systems using conventional and adaptive technologies. The company
will coordinate with regional partners and provide active corridor
management as part of the program.
