TORONTO, Sept. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. (OTCQX: LMEFF) ("Laurion" or the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that Douglas Bolton has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Corporation. Mr. Bolton will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer from Mr. David Burkes who has been the acting Chief Financial Officer for the Corporation. Mr. Burkes will remain on the board of directors at Laurion. Mr. Bolton is a member in-good-standing with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.  During his career in public accounting, Mr. Bolton spent over 25 years as a partner in an audit firm whose primary focus was the auditing of reporting issuers listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (the TSXV) who are involved in the extractive industries.  Those companies, primarily at the exploration and evaluation stage had properties in Canada, Africa and throughout Central and South America. Pursuant to the Corporation stock option plan, Mr. Bolton was granted 250,000 stock options at the exercise price of $0.10 per stock option, vesting over a period of two years, which was included in his total compensation package.  In consideration for his services, Mr. Bolton will also receive a monthly fee and reimbursement of approved disbursements.  The grant of options to Mr. Bolton remains subject to the approval of the TSXV.
