ITEM 8.01 OTHER EVENTS

On October 30, 2019, the Peruvian Branch of Southern Copper Corporation, or SPCC, announced that the Peruvian Mining Council had ratified the construction permit to build the Tía María project, located in the province of Islay, region of Arequipa, Peru. A copy of SPCC's press release containing the announcement is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
