UTSI results for Q2 2021 will be released very soon ( normally today, if not coming days )

The numbers will show an big improvement compared with last year ( covid year ). The company has changed the board of directors included the CEO, the 5G industry is getting closer and closer.

China industry is getting full power again, India is still a bit behind, but it is matter of time. So the earnings/results will improve for UTSI.
Next quarters we will see the effects of the new products and services, which will help the stock price.

Business updates !!! Nice updates !! Great outlook for 2021 !!

* 5G Transport Solution UTStarcom collaborated with a partner to develop a state-of-the-art 5G transport solution, SkyFlux Converged Packet Transport (CPT) platform and its network management and controller, for one of the major China mobile operators’ (MNO) 5G migration.

* Field trials deployment will start soon :
Development of Disaggregated Solutions for 5G Transport Networks As announced in two PRs released in Q4 of 2020, UTStarcom secured a win of a RFP for joint development of a disaggregated platform for 5G transport with one of the major telecom operators in China aiming at further mass deployment with this operator, and completed Phase 1 development and integration of the disaggregated network solution with the research institute of another major mobile network operators (MNO) in China.

India Receivable The Company continues to collect amounts due from its major customer in India. This customer in India raised INR8,500 Crore (approximately USD $1.13 billion) through sovereign guaranteed bonds and cleared a portion of its payables to vendors, including UTStarcom. The Company has collected over $21 million in 2020, with $51 million outstanding.

Financial results 2020 is out :

2020 total revenues were $24.3 million, a decrease of 63% from $65.6 million in 2019.

2020 gross profit was $3.5 million, or 14.5% of net sales, compared to $24.2 million, or 36.8% of net sales, in 2019.

2020 operating expenses were $26.8 million, compared to $30.3 million in 2019.

Full year 2020 operating loss was $23.2 million, compared to $6.1 million in 2019.

Full year 2020 net interest income was $1.0 million, compared to $1.3 million in 2019.

Full year 2020 net loss attributable to shareholders was $23.7 million, compared to $3.9 million in 2019. 2020 basic net loss per share was $0.66, compared to $0.11 in 2019.

=> CASH !! This is really nice, they didn't need to use almost no cash !!

Cash used in operating activities in the second half of 2020 was $2.6 million, cash used in investing activities was $0.03 million, and cash used in financing activities was $0.2 million. As of December 31, 2020, UTStarcom had cash, cash equivalent and restricted cash of $48.4 million.

Like many companies the revenue went down a lot, but not 90%, only 63% !

Meanwhile the past weeks the GAP has been filled... with a nice bottom showing up.

BUT now the price is at its 200 EMA which will be big resistance for the moment at $1.56.

If it breaks up it would become a support, but only if it stays 3 days above it.. if not it could go down to $1.25 again

Meanwhile it is proven that it broke the $1.50 support level.
It goes slowly down, I think it will hit the support of $1.20-$1.25 again,
then a lot of buyers will come it because of recent good news..

If you look at the 6 month of 1 year graph ( OHLC ), you see clearly the down trend...

It look like that each moment it can go down, with a big jump down...
+ already couple of days under the $1.50 support

It ends "under" the support line ( $1.50 ), tomorrow it will go above it again but...... will it be able to stay above?
If doesn't => negative sign, then next support is at $1.20

When going up the second testing of resistance of $1.20 was brooken.

Now it is testing for second time the support level !!
If this get crushed, then the support level $1.20 ( which was the resistance level ) is going to be tested....

If it crushes this too, then we are back to the levels $0.85 / $1.20

Now it is low volume time ( all big buying was in the beginning ) so it goes lower slowly, but still $1.70 ! Now a lot of profit takers ( what you expect with this huge rise ! ) and traders selling the stock....

Maybe it picks up at the end...

Resistance around $1.20 is being tested, till now each time investort sell at that price... at of the day it could go lower, this is second test that fails.. with no news, no reports coming up!

After posting bad results of the previous quarter, UTSI goes down, which is normal, although the previous 3 quarters were influence by COVID-19.

The stock went down till $0.83 , after with a big buy of opportunities buyers, it went up till $1.14.

Now the big support is at $0.85, thereafter it will raise slightly again to above $1+ but for a higher big move we need great news or wait for the next quarter ( in 2,5 months )..

That the stock is going down is normal, the previous 2 quarters were not good but all linked with COVID-19, coming months will be better.

Beginning next year the whole health crisis will be over. Certainly after the winter, the winter itself is gone and vaccins will be available and then UTSI will boom again...

Finally they will be able to do their turnaround, meanwhile UTSI will be cost cutting, which will be good for the future !
