SCHMID Group (NASDAQ:SHMD) shares surged 23% on Wednesday after the company announced the delivery of its first specialized null Line H+ system designed for Panel-Level Packaging applications to a major U.S. technology firm.The null Line H+ platform is capable of processing substrates measuring up to 700×700mm and is engineered for next-generation substrate manufacturing. The system uses a single-sided, touchless processing architecture intended to maintain high levels of cleanliness and operational stability for advanced semiconductor packaging.An integrated inline flipping station allows the platform to process substrates in both face-up and face-down orientations while preserving consistent leading-edge alignment throughout the manufacturing sequence. Its design also aims to reduce media carry-over and incorporates particle-free drive systems within the drying modules.The delivery strengthens SCHMID’s position in fast-growing applications such as AI-driven computing infrastructure, high-performance computing systems, and electronics used in space and defense. The InfinityLine C+ represents SCHMID’s next-generation vertical spin process technology, designed to deliver best-in-class uniformities, touch-free operation, single-panel processing, and fully automated panel handling.

A New Standard in Wet Chemical Processing
The InfinityLine C+ platform is designed as a modular, vertical, touch-free cluster tool supporting a wide range of critical wet processes for high-density interconnect (HDI) and advanced substrate applications.

The InfinityLine C+ cluster provides a flexible, tightly integrated wet process environment that minimizes handling, maximizes yield, and supports rapid recipe transitions for dynamic manufacturing conditions.

I like the idea of this play but it seems a bit far fetched for an old, small, poorly performing business to level up its technology so much.
