Riverbed Executives Selected as San Francisco Business Times’ Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business for 2014

CMO Kate Hutchison, CIO Ginna Raahauge and VP Commercial and Inside Sales MJ Shutte recognized for their contribution in shaping Bay Area company and community

Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the leader in application performance infrastructure, today announced that Kate Hutchison, Chief Marketing Officer, and Ginna Raahauge, Chief Information Officer, have been selected as two of the San Francisco Business Times’ “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” for 2014. MJ Shutte, Vice President of Commercial and Inside Sales, has been selected for the publication’s “Forever Influential” Hall of Fame 2014 list as she was recognized in 2013 on the “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” list. The Riverbed executives received this honor based on their leadership roles, ability to drive strategy and execution, and industry and community influence.

For over a decade, the San Francisco Business Times has put together this annual list to honor outstanding women business leaders in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Recipients will be honored at a gala awards dinner on June 12, 2014 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.

In just a few months at Riverbed as CMO, Hutchison helped reposition the company as a multi-product platform company in the $11 billion Application Performance Infrastructure market. Today, she is responsible for Riverbed’s brand and global marketing efforts. Hutchison has led marketing and brand transformations for several other companies, including Polycom, VMware, Citrix and BEA. While at Citrix and BEA, Hutchison led marketing and at Polycom, Hutchison led the company’s successful transformation from a hardware provider known for its iconic speakerphone to a software-driven company and leader in unified communications and video/voice collaboration.

Since joining Riverbed, Raahauge has brought to the company her 20+ years of technology and business leadership experience in the high-tech industry. As CIO of Riverbed, she is focused on two strategic technology platform investments around collaboration and commerce. Raahauge works in concert with her business counterparts to accelerate these platforms to deliver solutions that matter most for Riverbed's customers and partners. Before joining Riverbed, Raahauge was Vice President, IT at Cisco, where she was responsible for the entire technology platform that delivered Cisco's core revenue, encompassing order management to fulfillment to revenue recognition. During her tenure at Cisco, Raahauge authored and executed on several transformational strategies that enabled Cisco's business models to scale across the technology platforms with an eye on simplification and innovative solutions.

For the past eight years, Shutte has played an invaluable role in aligning the Riverbed sales team with the IT infrastructure goals of enterprises worldwide. Prior to Riverbed, Shutte was Director of Corporate Sales at NetApp.

To qualify for this honor, women must be based in the publication’s coverage area, which includes the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Alameda and Contra Costa – as well as the City of Palo Alto.

Riverbed was recently named one of the Best Places to Work in the San Francisco Bay Area for the fourth time by its employees and the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal. The company was also named one of the top 20 Best Places to Work in the Glassdoor Employee’s Choice Awards 2014.
