Q1 Fiscal 2021 Financial Highlights

Gross product orders totaled $50.5 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2021 compared to $78.5 million for the prior fiscal year first quarter. Order backlog as of September 30, 2020 was $597.3 million, approximately 21 percent higher than at the end of the prior fiscal year first quarter.

Total net revenue was $85.3 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2021 compared to $89.6 million for the prior fiscal year first quarter. Product revenue totaled $31.3 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2021 compared to $37.6 million for the prior fiscal year first quarter, while service revenue totaled $54.1 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2021 compared to $52.0 million for the prior fiscal year first quarter.

Total gross profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2021 was $35.4 million or approximately 41.5 percent of total net revenue, comprised of product gross margin of 41.1 percent of product net revenue and service gross margin of 41.7 percent of service net revenue. This compares to total gross profit of $32.9 million or 36.8 percent of total net revenue, comprised of product gross margin of 42.6 percent of product net revenue and service gross margin of 32.5 percent of service net revenue for the prior fiscal year first quarter.

Net income was $0.4 million, or $0.0 per share, for the first quarter of fiscal 2021, compared to a net loss of $9.4 million, or a loss of $0.11 per share, for the prior fiscal year first quarter.

Adjusted EBITDA for the first quarter of fiscal 2021 was a positive $9.0 million, compared to a negative $1.0 million for the prior fiscal year first quarter.

Cash, cash equivalents, and short-term restricted cash were $95.5 million as of September 30, 2020, a decrease of $13.1 million from June 30, 2020 primarily due to a $10 million prepayment in principal with respect to our long-term debt.

Financial Guidance

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Accuray's fiscal 2021 results remains uncertain. Given the continued evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty surrounding its impact on the global economy and the healthcare industry, Accuray believes it is prudent to refrain from providing financial guidance for fiscal year 2021.

CMS 'pouring fuel on the fire' for Accuray with APM rule, says Lake Street 09:18 ARAY Lake Street analyst Brooks O'Neil said he believes Accuray is "exceptionally well-positioned to win" as healthcare markets globally stabilize after the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that CMS "is pouring fuel on the fire" by publishing a final rule related to an Alternate Payment Model now set to begin in 30% of the U.S. on January 1, 2021. The CMS rule will reward providers who utilize the high intensity, low frequency treatments pioneered by Accuray, according to O'Neil, who also sees the company as "on the cusp of the incredible opportunity to begin to deliver both Type A and Type B equipment to the massive China market over the next several quarters." O'Neil keeps a Buy rating and $10 price target on Accuray shares.

Accuray rises after company says radiation therapy system orders got better in 4th quarter

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Accuray climbed in premarket trading Wednesday after the radiation-treatment equipment maker said new orders are improving.
Accuray reported its fiscal fourth-quarter results after the market closed on Tuesday. Its loss narrowed from a year ago despite a decline in revenue. Net new product orders rose 32 percent from last year, and the company said its backlog has grown over the last three months and is larger than it was a year ago.
Accuray shares picked up 50 cents, or 8.2 percent, to $6.60 in premarket trading.
The Sunnyvale, Calif., company sells radiation therapy systems under the names CyberKnife and TomoTherapy. Accuray said it took a loss of $18.7 million, or 25 cents per share, over the three months ended June 30. Accuray Inc. took a loss of $20.3 million, or 28 cents per share, a year earlier.
If one-time items are excluded the company said it lost 20 cents per share in the fourth quarters of fiscal 2013 and 2012. Revenue fell 16 percent, to $84.9 million from $100.5 million.
Analysts were expecting a loss of 20 cents per share on $84.3 million in revenue, according to FactSet.
Jefferies & Co. analyst Raj Denhoy said Accuray is moving in the right direction because orders are increasing and the company is getting better at keeping its costs under control. He kept a "Buy" rating on the stock and raised his price target to $8 per share from $6.50.
Accuray said it lost $103.2 million, or $1.41 per share, in fiscal 2013 after losing $72 million, or $1.02 per share, the year before. Revenue fell 23 percent, to $316 million from $409.2 million.
The company expects to report $325 million to $345 million in revenue in fiscal 2014. Analysts estimate $359.6 million on average.

7:02AM Accuray provides clarification on recently initiated voluntary recalls; no known injuries have been reported to date (ARAY) 4.44 : Co has voluntarily implemented a recall of two separate components from its CyberKnife product line: the Iris Variable Aperture Collimator and the RoboCouch Patient Positioning System. The affected parts are manufactured by third-party suppliers and are being removed from the system because they failed to meet the company's specifications and standards for quality. The co has notified impacted customers, and field service personnel have been deployed to apply the corrections should they be necessary. These recalls exclude the CyberKnife M6 Series Series. "We are pleased to report that no known injuries have been reported to date as a result of these issues."

I found a new stock that you may like ONVO it is a 3-d bio printing stock trying to print tissues for drug companies for drug testing and also print body organs such as heart liver kidneys and even teeth!

Grant I am disappointed in ARAY's mgnt. team as well if they concentrated more on us investors than their own pockets then they would be some of the richest people in the world with stock options..
I gave up not bc of their great tech but bc of mgnt. you need a great product with a top mgnt. team i don't see these guys getting the job done sorry to say.

ARAY has surely been disappointing... I am astonished at the management disregard for shareholders over the years. I think the technology has failed to achieve the market dominance it appeared that it would achieve... it may now have lost the edge since the acquiring of TOMO.

I had hoped it would be my next "ISRG" bought into much lower than my 90-100 basis level with ISRG. Hindsight being perfect allows me to sigh and say "at least I did buy shares of ISRG when I could... just not the thousands of shares I'd have liked to have!" LOL

So I have no regrets with ARAY... a little wasted time... a lot of work trying to flip shares to get down to "even" as opportunities allowed... and now I just have to decide IF I will hold it for much longer. My wife has wanted to dump it for some time... so I told her to go ahead last time it ran past 7. She still wants me to sell the remaining shares I have in my account.

ARAY's Cyberknife continues to be MY TREATMENT of CHOICE should I ever have a cancer that has an effective protocol.

Two studies presented at the 54th Annual American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Meeting in Boston were selected by ASTRO for presentation to the media at a prostate-focused press conference on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, for which the use of CyberKnife SBRT for prostate cancer represented half of the press conference's focus. Patients were followed for a median of 36 months, and close to half were followed for at least four years, as updated by Dr. Katz during his presentation. Actuarial five-year disease-free survival was 95 percent for low-risk patients, 90 percent for intermediate-risk patients and 80 percent for high-risk patients. These findings compare favorably with other surgical and radiation-based treatments
