Avenue Acquisition plc announces that the Offer Document in relation to the
unconditional recommended mandatory cash offer for Coats has today been posted.



As set out in the Offer Document, acceptances of the Coats Share Offer should be
received by no later than 3.00 p.m. on 28 April, 2003.



Terms used in this announcement shall have the same meaning as those in the
Offer Document.
