Dairy Crest Group - QUEST

On 26 September 2003 Dairy Crest allotted 115,000 shares in Dairy Crest to the
Trustee of the Dairy Crest Qualifying Employee Share Ownership Trust ("QUEST")
at 457p per share. The QUEST now holds 450,868 shares, or 0.36% of the issued
share capital of Dairy Crest.

Drummond Hall, Alastair Murray, Mark Allen and Peter Thornton, as directors of
Dairy Crest, are potential beneficiaries under the QUEST (together with all of
the bona fide employees, former employees and former executive directors of the
Dairy Crest and their associates) and are therefore interested in the Dairy
Crest shares whilst they are held in the QUEST by Dairy Crest.
