College and the State of New York will celebrate the grand opening
of International Paper John Dillon Park, the first wilderness area
designed exclusively for people with disabilities and their
families, friends and caregivers. Join us for a brief opening
ceremony followed by an afternoon exploring the park's
state-of-the-art adaptive features, which include specially
designed lean-tos and trails and solar-powered battery carts to

park is located within a 15,800-acre forest protected by a
conservation easement donated by International Paper. Paul Smith's
College faculty, staff and students will manage the park. WHO: John

is located on NY Route 30 between Long Lake and Tupper Lake, 4.2
miles north of the Adirondack Hotel in Long Lake. The entrance is
marked by a John Dillon Park sign on the right side of the road. A
good landmark coming from the south is Big Brook, a stream that
crosses Rt. 30 1/2 mile south of Dillon Park. Once arriving at
Dillon Park, please park along the road or in one of the few
designated parking spaces available. An attendant will be there to
assist you. Members of the media will be able to drive into the
park. Drive time from Albany is approximately 2-1/2 hours.
