NEW YORK, Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- British Airways plans to operate up to 80 per cent of its scheduled longhaul services and about 85 per cent of scheduled shorthaul flights to/from London Heathrow airport on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005. A complete schedule and the expected departure times is available on the airline's website, ba.com. From North America, flights this evening will depart from almost every gateway. Customers who have been delayed will be able to travel on these flights, however they are advised to check on ba.com before leaving for the airport for the latest information on their flight. Customers also may call the airline toll-free at 1 800 AIRWAYS for latest flight departure and arrival information. "We are working around the clock to restart our flights," said Robin Hayes, Executive Vice President The Americas British Airways. "Our priority is to resume our services as quickly as possible and help all our customers who have been affected." Flights will continue to have limited catering provisions onboard aircraft as the London-based catering supplier, Gate Gourmet, is unable to offer the airline a full catering service. Customers will be provided with refreshments or meal vouchers at airports prior to as well as after flights. All other Americas flights that operate to/from London Gatwick or Manchester are operating normally.
