Murano named best in its segment for fifth
consecutive year
Reflecting the company’s continued focus on quality and customer
satisfaction, Nissan rose an impressive seven ranking positions in
the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality StudySM (IQS). In this
year’s study, Nissan Motor Co. improved from 13th to 6th overall in
the automotive industry for initial quality. Additionally, the
Nissan Murano once again was named best in the Midsize SUV category
for initial quality.

seven ranking positions in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality
StudySM (IQS). In this year’s study, Nissan Motor Co. improved from
13th to 6th overall in the automotive industry for initial quality.

The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study is a measure of vehicle
quality based on responses from purchasers and lessees following
the first 90 days of ownership. Drivers are surveyed about 227
potential problems with their vehicle covering 10 categories:
infotainment; features, controls and displays; exterior; driving
assistance; interior; powertrain; seats; driving experience;
climate; and unspecified (unique to repair). For the first time,
this year the study also incorporates data from franchised
dealership repair visits.
The 2024 Nissan Murano was named best in initial quality among
midsize SUVs for the fifth consecutive year. Additionally, 2024
Sentra and 2024 Altima ranked second overall, while 2024 Frontier
ranked third in their respective segments for initial quality.
